How Is Bottled Water Safe?

How is bottled water safe? Do we need to worry about it? What is better: tap water or bottled water? Bottled water gained popularity when some celebrities endorsed it. Before them, Nestle introduced a single-use PET bottle that attracted customers. Americans spent $31 billion last year on bottled water.

One of the biggest reasons is water safety. Many people think municipal water could be contaminated with chemicals, especially chlorine, lead, or arsenic. Besides, the bottled water industry ignited fears pointing out tap water is suitable for irrigation and cooking.

Avoidance of sugary drinks


Another reason to choose bottled water is the willingness to avoid sugary drinks.

Yes, people in this way are right because ofsugarconsumptionsugar consumption that leads to chronic diseases.

The usage of sugar creates plenty of problems besides diabetes and obesity. It removes vital nutrients and creates an addiction to consuming more sweets.

 Commercials and online influence


The third reason is the constant commercial that points out about benefits and convenience of drinking bottled water.

Consumer Reports found out that they always do, what facts regarding bottled water safety tell a different story.

IBWA, or the so-called International Bottled Water Association, turns facts upside down when asked about test results.

For example, in 1999, the IBWA website posted a question:” Does bottled water contain any harmful chemicals that can threaten human health?”

Overall, it would be strange that they would answer yes. However, according to Consumer Reports,

federal records show that in 1990 there were around 50 recalls of bottled water for excessive chlorine, mold, and fecal coliforms.

They pointed out that it meant “general nature,” and there was no risk to human health.

Overall, I think that they have a strange sense of humor. Why? Fecal coliforms show that something is fishy with the treatment of water.

Wikipedia explains it perfectly:

In general, increased levels of fecal coliforms provide a warning of failure in water treatment, a break in the integrity of the distribution system, pand ossible contamination with pathogens. There may be an elevated risk of waterborne gastroenteritis when classes are high. Tests for the bacteria are cheap, reliable, and rapid (1-day incubation).

Independent tests showed in 1999 that 1 in 4  of more than one hundred brands violated California limits for arsenic or other carcinogens. You do not need to be a scientist to know about the harm of arsenic.

How is bottled water safe? This stuff, mean arsenic, is found naturally in Earth’sEarth crust, water; water air, I mean arsenic, this stuff is found naturally in Earth’s crust, water, air, and animals. However, inorganic arsenic can be dangerous because of how it is produced. Industries use arsenic for various purposes, such as smelters or smelters or herbicides and pesticides.

 Is a plastic bottle safe?


Nah, especially if these plastic bottles are kept in hot areas such as the sun. Studies show that antimony trioxide, a carcinogen, may be released into the water if bottles are kept too long, such as five days. Federal limits are 167 degrees after five days, but it happens after a few hours in some cases.

Think about plastic bottles left in the car on a hot summer day. I saw some people put these bottles back into the cooler and reusing them again. No wonders why various environmental illnesses surround us.

Consumer Reports have a story about the study made in 2019. It shows that microscopic pieces of plastic could leach toxins into the water. People, who drank only bottled water, consumed 90,000 microplastics annually. Individuals who guzzled only tap water got only 4,000.

What is horrible about these tiny plastic pieces is that they help create reproductive problems, obesity, and other nasty things.

How does tap water become bottled water?Bottled water


A few years ago, I heard saying that bottled water is the same as water from the tap. Previously I sneered at the tap water because of a lack of knowledge. I was happy with San Pelegrino, which comes in glass bottles.

Thankfully,   my wallet and my body got better alternatives because of learning about the benefits of minerals.

I will talk about it later, but for now, let’s check how tap water becomes suitable for famous brands.

I never was crazy about  Coca-Cola, except for the company’s commercials at Christmas time and the beautiful design of bottles, or about Nestle, which strips communities and lakes taking water for their own needs.

However, when I read in Consumer Reports article about the usage of tap water by these famous brands, I was confused. Is it a crime or just fooling ofconsumersof consumers by giving tap water names such as Dasani, Aquafina, Poland Spring, or Zephyrhills Natural Spring Water?

Yes, you understand, right.

Companies use water from the tap, create a brand name, and make a nice profit. Besides, companies such as Nestle drain out lakes and local people’s resources.

How about tests of bottled water


According to Consumer Reports, “Government regulators generally don’t test bottled water themselves, and bottled water makers aren’t required to publish their results.”

Besides, companies are not responsible for making the results of tests available to the public.

 What does it mean?


It means that there is no consumer protection at this point. You depend on the generosity and sanity of manufacturers who can be honest or think about profits. You heard plenty of stories about people being left behind when something seriousprofoundserious profound happens. The city of Flint is one of having this reputation.

Of course, I  doubt if tap water from Flint could go into bottled water because of the color. However, plenty of toxins dodoes not appearappears visible to the human eye.

It is up to you to decide how much fun is here, especially if you would be a customer who used this particular Fiji bottled water.

AtIn 2006, Fiji had an ad which stated that water is good in bootle because of the different origin, not taken from the tap in Cleveland.

No jokes about water safety

Officials in Cleveland did not get excited over this statement and checked their tap water and water in Fiji bottles.

 What do you think they found?


Cleveland’s municipal water was good. Fiji bottled water had arsenic in it. How about that?

The majority of the USA has access to safe tap water, except there are real problems in some communities. The lack of investment in water systems leads to disasters such as Flint or in the Hudson, Mass.

It is good news for tap water users that systems that provide water to 90 percent of the USA  consumers are safe. Only less than ten percent had at least one health-based quality violation.

You can learn about your tap water safety rby eceiving annual water quality called the Consumer Confidence Report.  If you do not get one, you need to contact the local water supplier. People who rent can ask for reports from their landlords.

Testing kits


It is advisable to test the water using test kits because of lthe ead danger. Why? Municipalities can provide excellent water to you, but lead can reach your water from pipes that go into your house.

EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) recommends using a certified lab. Sometimes communities can provide test kits free of charge.

Filters 


Filtering tap water prevents you from headaches and possible problems coming with contamination from bottled water or the tap, mainly if you do not test it.

Filters are various depending on the quality and price.

According to Consumer Reports, osmosis filters are the most reliable. They can remove arsenic, lead, bacteria, chlorine, and other chemicals.

It is essential to know and ensure that filters are certified to NSF International standards by an independent lab.

 What does it mean?


It means that these labs are not associated with manufacturers and do not have influence from them.

Bottled water seems convenient, especially when you see celebrities doing that. What is Ibogaine?


    Ibogaine is a natural extract from the iboga bush. These bushes grow in West-Central Africa, like Cameron and Gabon.

Ibogaine is a compound taken from the root of the Tabernanthe iboga bush. Previously it was used by the Bwiti religion people in Gabon.

Bwiti shamans believe that iboga bushes have “a living spirit with intelligence and volition.”

How does it happen that I never heard about it? I guess that everything comes at the right time. Previously, I thought about why nobody could help people who deal with addictions? I have more to do besides worrying about my health. The first time I stumbled upon magnesium citrate was two decades ago. I walked with one person who could not stop talking. Usually, I do not experience headaches, but at this time, I got one.

I excused myself politely and marched to the nearest pharmacy. I bought magnesium citrate. I remembered thinking, what the heck is with magnesium? Anyway, I mixed the powder with water and swallowed. The taste was good.

Her advice served me well. I forgot about my troubles after a few days. The itchiness was gone, with no acne and inflammation. Everybody knows that dealing with procrastination is not the real thing. Why? Because sooner or later, we need to face a problem and deal with it. It is not easy to meet, but we will feel refreshed and energized if we manage our tasks and challenges.

Just Try It


Always consider your options and ways to avoid doing this or creating a burden for us. We constantly worry about how it will be continuously concerned about how it will be or what kind of consequences can be. It is better to try and see how we can finish what we started. We procrastinate with our plans to tell somebody how we appreciate them and love them. We think our lives will improve after one or a few months, after New Year or retirement.

Best Time is Present


Best thinkers and writers told said that the best time is now. Time to start a new job, lose weight, find friends, fix your bed, learn the original language, or get rid of old things which clutter your closets and minds.

Of course, it is great not to try water with both feet. It would help if you made plans and contemplated them, but not the whole eternity. Time is a precious thing. We can not buy it or save it in a safety deposit box. Sometimes, when we wait too long, our opportunities can be slim. Taking action is the best thing to move you from the dead point. You know this old saying that Rome was not built in a few days. Everything starts with small steps.

Do Not Postpone What You Want to Do


Deal With Procrastination

It is excellent when you can be polite with yourself,  but at the same time encourage and push yourself towards the desired goal. I do not know anybody happy postponing things close to my heart.

Live your life now. Enjoy every minute of it. Do what you always dreamed do because the latter can be other situations or possibilities can disappear. Of course, life always opens new doors after closing old ones.

By analyzing behavior, and thoughts from where they came, we can stop and shift our beliefs in the right direction. Everything is in our hands. Of course, there is the most significant Power; it does not matter how you call it: God, Supreme Being, or Universal Mind. If humankind were sitting in one place with expectations that God would do everything for them, our civilization would be at the level of cave dwellers. If we do not analyze our thoughts, we function as automats. It means that our mindsets lead our lives. Some beliefs, such as money grown on trees or money, are dirty and do not keep us from moving in the direction where these questions and ideas are not welcome. Why? Because negativity always attracts negativity. As the sun forces us to take clothes off in summer, soa positive attitude and the right mindset create an environment where we can make progress. These advances can be in any direction.

The right mindset enables us to go after our goals. There is no stagnation because thinking good thoughts, cand hanging habits to habits, which help us reach perfection and contentment in our lives, make us happy and relaxed. We know that everything will be okay. If something goes in the wrong direction, we stop, relax, and make other decisions. We know that we can trust in ourselves.

He advises how to use your subconscious mind. It is best when we are half asleep, relaxed. Fun must be mandatory for everybody, not just for children. Fun activities and adults are compatible. However, most grown-ups have a stiff upper lip or forget how to be happy at all.

How often do you hear people laughing naturally and in a relaxed manner? I do not count fake laughs, then. Then pointless comedy goes on, and you listen to chuckles and loud noises in the background.

I wonder if people who watch TV do not know when the funny situation starts? Maybe somebody else thinks the crowd needs to be pointed in the right direction like cute sheep.

 Why Adults Laugh Less Compared with Children?


You would tell that children do not have any problems with the mortgage, crazy boss, or the lack of time. Children have fewer duties and more fun. It is true. However, adults have more experience and can plan their lives more carefully.

What do I mean? Adults can set priorities essential for them to happiness or endless spinning on the wheel of presumptions, expectations, wants, and needs. Of course, it is not easy to escape from routine,  cand hange behavior and lifestyle. Friends and colleagues at work and school influence us. We follow others who most of them do not know how to be happy or at least have fun.

 What Is The Fun?


Fun is lighthearted pleasure, enjoyment, and amusement. Think about it. When you last time had fun? I guess you read that we live once and need to spend time in the most efficient way possible. At the end of life, it will be fun when we think about what we experienced and how we lived and spent time.

I understand fun when I can laugh till my ribs start hurting. Of course, it is an exaggeration, but the joy without the laugh is not complete. At least sa mile would be pleasant to spread around when you do something for your enjoyment.

Besides having a great time, fun activities give you a boost and energy. The laugh relaxes you. I read that vitamin C production increases many times at the time of laughter. I need to check it out.

Are you ready for the list of fun activities? There they are.

 Bicycles


Do you think that bikes are just for children or teenagers who do tricks and run fast? Everybody can ride one. It is not a big deal. However, you will have fun, improve your health, and change your environment.

It depends on where you live. TheA crowded city with plenty of cars is not the best option. You can rent a bicycle or bring a bike to the park or somewhere where it is safe to ride.

You will see how your balance improved, your muscles became more robust, and your mood was different from sitting on the couch by the TV.

Think about the TV series or programs that you watched before. Of course, there are good shows, but most of them do not remember the next day. You spend time without meaning.

You would ask what kind of meaning brings the ride on the bicycle?

  • You will break the monotony
  • You improve the balance
  • You will clear your mind because you need to watch where you ride. You can leave your worries back at home.
  • You will exercise. More oxygen to your lungs, more blood to your organs will reach when you push the pedals. Different muscle groups work. Your body will tell you thanks and will answer with better health.
  • You will meet other people. Maybe you will make new friends.

You do not need to buy an expensive bicycle. There are plenty of second-hand shops, or you can rent at first and see how to do you like this activity.

  Trampolines


Trampolines are a fun way to exercise. You jump, and you have fun at the same time. Nothing can be dangerous in having this activity. Sooner or later, you will feel the excitement and will enjoy the process of jumping.

You can listen to music or sing along with the radio. Children are crazy about trampolines. Adults seem like clumsy bears. However, having the proper equipment, you can relax and have fun just jumping.

You can think about how you are a solid man or woman who can jump on the trampoline? Why not? You will see how you will relax and start a smile or chuckle. You will return to the careless time for at least a few minutes. Enjoy it!

Besides, you can improve your health. It is better to jump compared to running. Your joints do not get so much pressure when reaching the ground. You bounce and have a contact for a few seconds.

When you run, your feet and joints get the full impact to the ground and are pressed with your weight. When jumping, everything is light: the touch with the trampoline base and bounce does not require effort. It is a fun activity.

 Table Games


Table games are a fun way to spend time with family or friends. It can work as an ice-breaker. It is a lovely transformation to a different environment where you leave dishes, bills, or simple worries away.

For example, trivia games prompt you to think and find the correct answer. You do not need to be smart, but you can check how much you know.

 Swing


Do you think you need to have a big porch to hang the swing? It is enough to have a sturdy tree and a good quality swing, and you will have fun as children do.

Why you can not relax as people do in southern states when sitting on a porch and enjoying a view of the street or the surroundings of your house. Do you live in the apartment? No problem. There is an extensive choice of various swings. You can hang it on the balcony or ceiling with a free corner in your living space.

British TV


Are you lazy or do not have any mood to move and exercise ffor un? You can spend quality time watching British TV. Roku box could help to see various shows and movies. Besides it, you can watch on YouTube without paying a dime. Of course, sometimes the quality can suffer, but it is free.

British TV is different and brings the enjoyment of discoveries. Movies and shows have meaning or just let you laugh at real-life situations depicted in these movies and plays.

  Zip Lines


How about being a Tarzan for a half-hour? It is a different experience when you are safe and can sense the freedom of flying on the zip line from one corner to another.

You need to pay for this fun activity, but you will have experience of experience how it feels to be freely accessible for a while. Instructors will help you with the reparation and securing of belts and harnesses.

Ziplines are generally safe. Think about how it is great to fly over the rainforest canopy.

 Picnic


A picnic is a great way to be outdoors, enjoy food, and have conversations with friends or family. It is fun because you are outside tasting different food and sitting on the grass or the blanket.

Who told you that you could walk barefoot just on the beach? Any clean place where is grass or sand is beneficial for feet. Our feet have plenty of vital points which have connections with organs. You know about acupuncture, do you? It is the same. You get it from nature for free.

Some people like walking barefoot on snow. It is not for me, and I do not see any fun here. When I can take my shoes off and stay on the grass is a pleasure and delight in the summertime. Why? It is a different experience, and the body gets the sweet sensation when leaves and stems tickle the surface of the feet.

 Watching Stars


Do you remember when you watched last times stars? Most of us are immersed in duties and constant routine of various tasks that we do not feel our surroundings. Most of us lost touch with nature.

The noise surrounding us, artificial light, and pollution can throw us off balance.

Star watching can be an excellent connection with something more significant than humans. You can feel the touch of the universe and nature.

The countryside is the best place for watching the stars. Maybe you will have a trip with your relatives who live outside the city, or you can drive with friends or family to the national park and spend a couple of nights at most minor and explore the surroundings.

How about watching a movie outdoors? You will manage the film at night, and later on, you can enjoy the stars.

 Books


Books can be fun too. You can read the book and be immersed in a different world. You can laugh, travel, and enjoy the main characters’ adventures. For example, the novel Three Men In A Boat ( To Say Nothing Of the Dog) written by English writer Jerome K. Jerome is a perfect example of the written fun. You can laugh endlessly till your belly will hurt.

Books let us forget the outer world and have fun without thinking about consequences.

 Hide and Seek


Do you think this activity is just for children? Why adults can not hide somewhere and wait till somebody finds them. The enormous fun would be from the embarrassment and later on from the understanding that we still can relax and do not worry what others will think about us. Who cares?

You can play together with your family. Children would have plenty of excitement because most of them see their parents in a serious mode.

  Home Theater


If you have time, you can organize the play by choosing any suitable theme for you and your friends. It is a great way to relax and immerse in a different role and be in the changing world for a short time.

You make parodies from Saturday Night Live or pick roles from the movie you want to play.

 Make A Bet


You do not need to go all way as Mell Brooks did in the movie Life Stinks, but you can use fantasy and deal with one or a few friends and see how it goes.  Please do not take it so seriously; I guess something will go in this or another way.

You can do it in a friendly way without offending anybody. For example, you can bet that you will cook a meal that is challenging to make, something like the cake Napoleon. Along the process, you will have fun because you never know what it will be.

What is most important is not to look at everything too seriously. Just relax and enjoy the time with friends or family.

 Kite


The kite will let you be a child again, physically and mentally. I guess that you can find a park or open space where you can try playing with this heavier-than-air craft. If you could make it by yourself, it would be fun too.

You will forget your problems( if you have them) when trying to lift them in the air and, later on, keepingkeepkeeping keep them flying around. You need to move and sometimes run, especially when the wind blows up. It is fun for you and for the spectators too.

Conclusion


Fun activities and adults are compatible. You do not need to be embarrassed when you have fun. Try to remember when you last time did something for the first time? If you know, good for you. I hope that it was a pleasant and exciting activity.

Adults need more joy and laughter in their lives. Sometimes we look severe and stiff as old trees. Why not enjoy life at least for a few hours? Maybe, later on, we will escape the wrong decisions we make in a time of despair.

You can try at least something to do for fun. Nobody will punish you. Start with small things, and later, you will see that you want more. With joy and pleasure comes freedom and balance in everything.

You can find them a hundred years ago as Seneca or Marcus Aurelius. Their worlds will be actual after hundred years, too, because of timeless truth and wisdom. You see them nowadays also, but they do not shout so loudly and do not seek attention as temporary stars. They do their job quietly and are known for the minor cycle of people.  You would wonder why it happens in this way?

Nowadays, the attention span is short. People cannot concentrate. They need louder and more colorful triggers. Does it wrong? It depends on what kind of your life purpose is. Do you want success, or do you want to dig deeper and understand the secrets of life?

Mentors and wise people can teach us through books and personal examples. You know that a good company can be infectious and pull you to look for new goals and victories.

The human brain has enormous potential. We do not use it at all. When we face problems,  it is like an exam in life. It seems that somebody tries our limits and wants to see how far we can go. For instance,  if somebody wants to try drugs, it seems innocent at first, but later, the consequences can be wicked.

Your head is occupied with thoughts, which will enrich your life, and you see everything from a different perspective.

Look for people who reached something in life. Discover how they did it. Of course, they had obstacles like everybody else. But if you are not born into a family, which has cleaned all blockades on your path, you need to do it yourself. You are not alone here,  in this life. Great thoughts and inspiring examples will lead you and help to stand before various roadblocks.
