Spirulina is a winner as algae is the best nutritional and nutraceutical product. If we compare Spirulina with Chlorella, we will see that Spirulina has a few more qualities. These conditions make Spirulina superior to other algae.

Differences Between Spirulina and Chlorella


Chlorella’s  Traits

Chlorella is a tiny monocellular alga. Her size is 5 microns.

The harvesting of Chlorella requires a high-speed centrifuge. It means that electric power and labor would be involved in the process of Chlorella’s cultivation.

Chlorella has a thick cellular membrane. Humans can not digest Chlorella quickly.

Chlorella is cultivated in lightly acidic conditions. The carbon dioxide generated by Chlorella is high in volume. The minuscule amount of carbon dioxide is utilized and dissolved.

Spirulina’s Traits

Spirulina is a multicellular alga. Spirulina is one hundred times bigger than Chlorella. It means that harvesting can be done using simple cloth: no centrifuges, electric power usage, and labor.

Spirulina has a thin membrane. Spirulina can be digested in 16 hours using proteinase pepsin. The percentage is 85 %. Spirulina is twice easier digestible compared with Chlorella.

Spirulina can grow in very alkaline conditions. It means that carbon dioxide gas is transformed into hydrogen carbonate ions. These ions remain in the alkaline culture solution.

Spirulina can absorb carbon dioxide and hydrogen carbonate ions as a carbon source.

The high utilization of carbon dioxide keeps the atmosphere clean and abundant with oxygen.

Spirulina Is a Winner


By no means; Chlorella is a valuable alga. Germans used Chlorella during the first war. It was a  food shortage. Scientists proposed to use Chlorella as a food source. Chlorella was better than yeast because it needed just air, sunlight, water, and a few minerals.

The cultivation of yeast required sugar. Later on, Germans abandoned research on Chlorella, but the scientific community got interested in the algae Chlorella.

Scientists from the USA and researchers in Japan started research on mass cultivation. The reason for analysis was the constant food crisis in the world.

However, Spirulina’s traits show superiority against other algae.

Better digestibility, low production expenses, high efficiency in utilization of carbon dioxide, cultivation in alkaline waters, and high temperatures in Africa allow Spirulina to stand out from other algae. Spirulina is a winner.

Therapeutical Abilities of Spirulina


Researchers from Japan decades ago reported positive effects of Spirulina in the cases of diabetes, pancreatitis, liver diseases, weakened immune system, anemia, vision problems, and so on.

The recently published book Spirulina in Human Health and Nutrition provides evidence from scientists and doctors. The results are impressive. They show that Spirulina is a nutraceutical food supplement.

Dr. Christopher Hills called Spirulina miraculous algae. Spirulina is a winner because her quality and usage outperform other algae.

Can food work as a medicine? Can it be nutraceutical food? Can we prevent diseases with the consumption of fresh and nutritious food? Famous Ann Wigmore created the Hippocrates Health Institute. Ann Wigmore promoted her experience when she healed herself with living food. She consumed herbs and sprouts and made the great Rejuvelax.

Her lifestyle inspired thousands of her followers. People found out that real food can help rid themselves of many problems associated with the body’s well-being.

The Nutraceutical Food from the Past


Older generations remember when fresh milk was delivered in bottles or farmers’ markets were a place where you could buy fresh food and meet your friends. Small business was a critical part of human lives. The pharmacist knew families. The family doctor took care of a few generations.

Most of the families gathered at the table and ate homemade food. They had soup made from homegrown chicken with vegetables from the garden and meat from the butcher.

Tea with herbs, picked by hand in the meadow, the honey, garlic, when somebody catches a cold, helped go through disturbances. Nutraceutical food gives nutrients needed for the body.

Of course, people had diseases, but not like today. Obese people seldom saw. Stress-related conditions were random.

We choose pizza over nuts, seeds, organic meat or fruits, and vegetables. Many people know that the food in fast food chains does not have nutritional value. This particular food is processed. Vitamins and enzymes disappear.

I know that pizza or chicken from the fast-food chain can be addictive. Processed food has chemical substances that make us feel wanting more and more.

Changing Habits


Habits are second nature. People must have a strong will and motivation if they would like to change practices.

Popular weight loss programs use actors and pleasing eye settings to motivate customers and invite them to subscribe.

If we consume processed food, we do not have enough nutrients to keep our bodies shape.

We must take good care of our bodies in the same way we care for our cars. We must eat food full of vital nutrients.

Write down steps from the start to the end

Be flexible during change

Find a team of people who have the same problem as you.

Spirulina is nutraceutical algae, and it can help to control asthma. Spirulina and asthma are essential topics. Spirulina can reduce the need for drugs for treatment. Does it sound like a fairy tale? I knew that Spirulina is capable of nourishing bodies with vital nutrients. It seems that Spirulina is valuable and nutraceutical supplement.

Nutraceutical: What it Means?


Nutraceutical means that food or part of a diet can provide us health benefits and therapeutic value. In the USA, organizations which regulate how to name one or other stuff do not recognize the benefits of essential items such as Spirulina, Noni, or Cordyceps. These mentioned products contain 100% active ingredients. Each of them has its ability to help human beings in one way or another.

I mentioned these products as an example. There are plenty of gifts from nature. People used them to add to their daily intake or help themselves when body required outside improvement.

 Spirulina and Asthma


Asthma is the condition when the lungs and bronchial airways are affected. People can not breathe easily. Airways are obstructed, and spasms occur.

In the book Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health authors state

Spirulina with its galaxy of antioxidant nutrients can thus be an effective therapeutic mode for combating detrimental damage and inflammation in the respiratory lining.

Researchers Uliyar V.Mani, Uma M.Iyer, Swati A.Dhruv, Indirani U.Mani, and Kavita S. Sharma wrote that  Spirulina is an excellent option for asthma patients. It is a rich source of GLA and antioxidants.

GLA is gamma-linolenic acid. GLA is a fatty acid. In general, fatty acids serve as fuel for the contraction of muscles and body metabolism. GLA in Spirulina acts as the anti-inflammatory representative.

Researchers found out that the antioxidant properties of Spirulina help fight against harmful oxidants. I think that you know that people who smoke or work in contaminated places are prone to conditions such as asthma.

Spirulina Is a Source of Antioxidants


Spirulina is a golden trunk full of nutrients such as beta-carotene, vitamin E, selenium, and other minerals. In the book,  Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health researchers provide results regarding Spirulina’s influence on patients with asthma.

It is a piece of high-quality evidence from scientists and doctors who spent their time researching Spirulina. In my mentioned book, there are plenty of medical terms and documented results about the benefits of Spirulina.

For example, in the studies, researchers found out that IgE ( immunoglobulin E) decreased significantly after usage of Spirulina.

IgE or immunoglobulin E is the antibody produced by the immune system. These antibodies can trigger allergic reactions by releasing chemicals. When people smoke or receive contaminants through airways, the immune system reacts to intruders. Allergy or asthma occurs.

The Conclusion in the Words of Scientists


Thus, from the positive results obtained in protein status, pulmonary function, and IgE status in supplemented groups it can be concluded that Spirulina can be introduced along with medicine as a therapeutic and dietary supplement in the treatment of asthmatics, and in the long run this may not only control asthma but also reduce the need of drugs in its treatment.

I do think that it is excellent news because Spirulina does not have side effects. It is a pure and abundant source of antioxidants, nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and proteins. The information about Spirulina and asthma could give insights to people who want to learn more about this particular topic.

Dr. Christopher Hills was fascinated by Spirulina. His experience of Spirulina is enormous. He wrote many books about his experience with Spirulina, the miraculous algae. Twenty years went after his research and published papers. I knew about Spirulina before, but when I found more literature about Spirulina, I wondered why nobody uses so much of these nutraceutical algae as a food supplement.

Spirulina is a highly concentrated food supplement. Spirulina consists of natural and efficient proteins, enzymes, fatty acids, minerals,  and vitamins.

Spirulina is a product of nature. It is not a chemical product. Spirulina is full of vital nutrients which are easily absorbed by the body. The body recognizes it and knows that it got satisfaction from this food supplement.

According to Dr.Christopher Hills, if people consistently take Spirulina, they could have the right weight. Of course, it takes time for adjustment. The metabolism in the body normalizes. People will begin to lose weight. Remember, no cheating.

I prefer authentic sources about subjects because these facts about Spirulina as a food supplement are proven by experts, scientists,  and doctors.

Nevertheless, if somebody has problems, they must consult a doctor before trying any new food or supplement.

Why Do I Like Spirulina?

Why do I like Spirulina? Spirulina, for me, is the number second after Cordyceps. I know that Spirulina is the best nutritional and nutraceutical algae. Spirulina makes me feel balanced and energetic.

Previously I ignored the qualities of Spirulina. I used it by recommendations of doctors as a nutritional supplement.

I did not have problems as people who wrote feedback in the book The Whole Truth About Spirulina. This book is the source of documented results and health care professionals about Spirulina usage.

Feedback Is a Great Thing


We trust our friends or people who tried or used things which we would like to work too. Most of us are self-conscious and suspicious about fake products or false accusations; we would love to hear about the experience from reliable resources.

Nowadays, when everybody can use the right to free speech, somebody can make things up.

It is why I like to read scientific books and articles about products, things, or creations of Nature.

Usually,  people do not lie about the experience, especially if something was excellent and had good results after using an item or product.

Spirulina is the best food supplement with all amino acids, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and enzymes.

For example, beef has 22 percent protein, while Spirulina has complete protein from 65 to 71 percent. The protein amount in Spirulina is higher than in Chlorella.

Spirulina is certified and proven as a safe and non-toxic food supplement. Why do  I like  Spirulina? The algae do not have side effects. Of course, if somebody eats plenty of pills or tablets, the body can reject any food when it is too much of something.

Aztecs and Mayans consumed spirulina by the people in Mexico and Africa thousands of years ago. Spirulina grows naturally in the lakes of Chad in Africa, in the middle of the Sahara Desert.

People harvest Spirulina scooping with baskets and pouring to drain on the sand. The algae dry in the sun. For the use of food, the Spirulina is mixed with wheat and baked or consumed as the soup.

No Side Effects


I think that you heard about the side effects of drugs. There are many stories about not-so-social consequences of using one or different medications.

Spirulina does not have any side effects. I read that the body does not accept it readily for some people who take too many tablets or pills at once. Individuals who have plenty of toxins in their bodies can not feel well. Spirulina helps remove toxins from the body.  However, it is the same with everything. If it is too much of something,  the body handles it.

We need to listen to our bodies. We do not eat just vegetables all day because it is healthy. We take everything in moderation. Why do I like Spirulina? Spirulina is a nutraceutical food without any side effects.
