The magnesium review will give the information about the vital for our lives mineral, found in nature. It is a pure alkaline mineral used hundred years ago. The body contains 4-6 tsp of magnesium. Our bodies constantly need this mineral because we do not get it enough from food and beverages.
Magnesium Deficiency
Dr. Carolyn Dean in her book The Magnesium Miracle mentions the Senate document. This particular document no.264 written in 1936.
The alarming fact is that foods ( fruits, vegetables, and grains) now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contain enough of certain minerals are starving us- no matter how much of them we eat.
No man today can eat enough fruits and vegetables to supply his stomach with the mineral salts he requires for perfect health because his stomach isn’t big enough to hold them! And we are turning into a nation of big stomachs.
-From the 74th Congress, 2nd session,1936
Do you think that the situation changed for the best? You do not need to go through statistics, but you can visit any mall or fast food chain and see how many people are obese. There are more reasons why people gain weight, but the fact that we do not get vital nutrients with food is a scary fact. The magnesium review will show you why we need magnesium so sorry.
Why Do We need Magnesium?
Magnesium is a mineral which plays a vital role in our bodies. Without magnesium, we would be stressed, weak, and unhealthy.
You would ask why do not take magnesium supplements? Nobody talks on mainstream media about the importance of minerals. It does not attract the broad audience. Why? Most of us do not value our health. We start to think when something happens such as heart failure, panic attacks, asthma or diabetes. We scratch our heads and run for advice from doctors.
The Magnesium review from Carolyn Dean M.D., N.D. The Magnesium Miracle explains why we need magnesium so badly.
There are conditions which require magnesium.
- Asthma
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Bowel dysfunctions
- Blood clots
- Cystitis
- Depression
- Removal of toxins
- Diabetes
- Tiredness
- Heart problems
- Hypertension
- Hypoglycemia
- Sleeping problems such as insomnia
- Kidney disease
- Migraine
- Muscle pain
- Nerve dysfunctions
- Obstetrical and gynecological issues
- Osteoporosis
- Raynaud’s syndrome
- Tooth decay
Dr. Carolyn Dean in her book The Magnesium Miracle mentions that some of the drugs deplete magnesium and make the situation worse.
The Magnesium Review: Best Qualities of Magnesium
Magnesium plays a significant role in the life of the cell and complete body. Magnesium participates in the development of chlorophyll. Besides it, there are more important activities where the magnesium plays the vital role.
- Magnesium participates in the activity of enzymes. Magnesium has the close relationship with enzymes. Without magnesium, enzymes could not work properly. Enzymes are protein molecules which stimulate chemical reactions in the body.
- Production and transportation of energy. Magnesium helps more as 325 enzymes. One of many reactions in the body is the activation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP acts as the storage for cell’s energy. Without magnesium, the body can not produce and store energy.
- Magnesium influences enzymes and nutrients. These components make modifications to the food which later serves as building material for the body. RNA and DNA rely on magnesium too.
- The electrical transmission between nerves and brain depends on magnesium. Magnesium lets calcium to enter a nerve cell and pushes it back from the cell.
- Muscle relaxation. Magnesium relaxes muscles when calcium contracts the. Both elements are dependent on each other. For example, when spasms occur in blood vessels, hypertension can develop. Magnesium relaxes muscles letting the blood flow freely. Big amounts of calcium and the lack of magnesium cause eye twitches, asthma, the cramping in the uterus and so on.
68 Categories of Magnesium Deficiency
There are 100 factors in 68 categories which can happen when the body lacks magnesium. For example, if we crave for carbohydrates, chocolate, junk food or salt, our bodies may require magnesium. Bowel problems such as colitis, Crohn’s disease, diarrhea, undigested fat in stool and IBS happen when magnesium is insufficient in the body.
Conclusion
Magnesium is a vital mineral which participates in body’s metabolism. Without magnesium, we would lose energy, vitality, and stamina. If we want to feel well, we must eat rich in magnesium food and take supplements. Organic food is the best option. Nuts, seeds are most abundant in magnesium. The best way to get magnesium straight to the cells is to take right magnesium supplements. Our well-being is in our hands. When we are informed about ways how to improve our lives, we can take care of ourselves and live happy lives. I hope that this the magnesium review would help appreciate gifts from nature.
Scott says
My father had his first heart attack at the age of 38. Yes, first of two he would ultimately have. His diet was directly related to it, which shows you how bad it was. We need certain things, and if we don’t get them or we neglect our bodies of the nutrients and vitamins it needs we pay with poor health. I came across a number of nutrients that are highly recommended like magnesium and the bottom line for me was I needed a diet change, and to find good supplementation. Good diet equals better life.
Nemira says
Sorry Scott to hear about your father. It was scary for him and to his family. Nobody teaches how and what to eat, especially if you live in the family with particular habits. They simply do not know that it is another way to live. You eat because you are hungry or you want to feel good. People do not think about quality of food. It is the reason why so many obese people are around. Somebody could tell hat organic food cost a lot. Yes, it is expensive but we can buy food from farmers instead Whole Foods. We can grow vegetables in our back yard.
When food is full of nutrients we eat less because the body gets everything what it needs. Nowadays we need use food supplements because soil is depleted. People who do not have enough place where to grow food, must take supplements to replenish body.
Magnesium is one of the most important minerals. We can change our bodies to the good side constantly taking magnesium, Spirulina.
I hope that people will pay attention to the food and quality of it because our wellbeing depends on it.
All the best, Nemira

I totally agree with your post. We are not as healthy as we should be. And while there are increases in health consciousness in some pockets of society it is still insufficient. In addition, many people believe that one or two practices or habits such as joining the gym or doing yoga or eating more vegetables are all that is needed, a more balanced approach is required. Including minerals in our diet is grossly overlooked in many dietary regimens. So thanks so much for shedding light on the importance of magnesium.

Hi here, Kevon. Previously I wondered why people do not take care of themselves. Drugs cost money. Not everybody is able to spend big amounts of money for surgeries, rehabilitation and vacation.
Prevention is the key to health and wellbeing. People can read and make choices for themselves. The Internet is everywhere. Books are available to everybody.
Magnesium is one of nature’s miracles, jut we did know it or forgot.

Shrey says
Hey
There are people who have varying metabolism rates, do you think that it is because of the consumption of magnesium or there are other factors involved as well.
I have quite a slow metabolism which makes me feel bloated most of the time, will taking magnesium supplement really help?
Nemira says
Hello, Shrey. People are different and unique. I guess that people who have problems, they consult with the doctor. Magnesium dos not have side effects. It can be taken without harm. According to Dr. Carolyn Dean, MD, ND everybody needs magnesium nowadays. We do not get enough magnesium with food.
Magnesium helps for bowels as relaxing supplement. Maybe you eat food which causes bloating. For example, beans must be soaked overnight.
You will get plenty benefits from magnesium which is missing in our diet.
All the best, Nemira

Wow, I had no idea that magnesium was required for so many illnesses/disorders. I will have to make sure to increase the amount of magnesium in my diet, to ensure I am getting enough! Thanks for writing this post, I had no idea how vital magnesium was to staying healthy.
Nemira says
Hello, Lauren. We do not know a lot about our bodies. Sometimes we know about computers, neighbors or last results for baseball more compare with our wellbeing.
I tried few times magnesium. Once I had a conversation and after it a headache occurred. Pharmacist recommended magnesium. It helped. Second time I felt like anxiety, heart. I drunk magnesium citrate again. It worked.
Now I use ReMag from Dr.Carolyn Dean and happy with it.
All the best, Nemira.

Really interesting read. My boyfriend suffers from TMJ and he recently bought some magnesium oil to rub on his jaw because, as you wrote, it is good for muscle relaxation. He said it really helps and I even tried some on my sore muscles which felt really nice.
So if we can’t get this mineral from our food, what brand of supplement would you recommend? I have a hard time trusting most supplements since there are not very strict regulations on them.
Nemira says
Magnesium is good for everything because it relaxes, calms down and lets hundreds of enzymes to do their job. I would recommend ReMag, created by Dr. Carolyn Dean, M.D., N.D. You read about ReMag here. I used ReMag by myself and feel that all unpleasant symptoms disappeared. Magnesium citrate is good too because it does not have laxative effects. Magnesium citrate is cheap and works pretty good for you. I prefer ReMag because this magnesium is 99.99% pure, goes straight to the cells and does it job in a gentle manner. When I dissolve it with water, it has a pleasant taste.
All the best, Nemira.

Thanks for a useful article – I had no idea magnesium had so many benefits and how important it was. It’s one of those things that I’m never quite sure of which food it can be found in either!
It sounds like it may be useful to take supplements – how do you know if you are magnesium deficient? Are there any negative effects to taking magnesium supplements?
Daniella says
Hi Nemira,
I’ve found your article fascinating, I really enjoyed the reading!
I didn’t know that a lack of magnesium can cause so many health problems. I really need to do a check up to see if every is fine because I have a lot of migraines. I’ve heard that 70% chocolate contains plenty of magnesium. Is it true? Because if it is, I’ll start to eat chocolate with high amount of cacao as it is my favorite snack:)
Thank you very much for this excellent post!
Nemira says
Everything happens for the reason. My encounter with creator of ReMag, magnesium supplement, hapened six years ago.DR. Carolyn Dean in her emails offers tips and advice regarding wellbeing. I used here wellness program too. She mentioned magnesium. After reading her book The Magnesium Miracle I decided to try ReMag. I had some symptoms which are associated with the lack of magnesium. Can you imagine it worked. Now I am addict to magnesium and dark chocolate. What I can tell that is not enough eat chocolate. I ate twenty years and anyway I felt that it is not enough.
Maybe some brands of chocolate contains the right amount of magnesium, but I did not find till now.
All the best, Nemira.

I’ve heard that it also helps with muscle spasms, do you know if that’s true? I have issues with them after playing sports. I’m going to take your advice and order some supplements. Which supplement brand do you think is the best?

Hi Nemira,
I love that you are singing my song in so many ways! I am a HUGE advocate of Magnesium …I use the spray on oil everyday and it made such a difference that have bought my kids all a bottle each as well.
Hadnt heard of the Noni fruit straps etc but they sound wonderful too . Spirulina is another one of my favourites, a daily additive to my smoothies and again have given to my (adult!!) kids!
I like your site , its clear and concise, well laid out and easy to get around !
Good luck going forward!

Hello, Ros, nice to meet you in this virtual world. Yes, Magnesium is forgotten mineral. I know that pe use as you but not so much in the wide scale. I started to use Magnesium every day and feel results. I feel relaxed and laid back.
What is about Noni, that I could eat Noni fruit Leather every day. It is so tasty. It reminds my the taste of cheese mixed with pineapple, just in a light way.
The Mother Nature provides us with gifts, just we forgot about it.
Thank you for the comment, be healthy and wealthy, Nemira

Thank you for this insightful post. It is interesting that the article you reference was from 1936! And how much worse has our soil become over the last 80 years. I am even more thankful now that I take a daily magnesium supplement. It is amazing how many common body ailments are due to a lack of magnesium. If only mainstream doctors would educate us, I think more people would be healthier!
Nemira says
Hello, Katie. Yes, people do not think why some are sick or do not feel well. The way of life prompts us just follow routine and be happy that the Friday is here. The magnesium is something, I can not emphasize so much in this article about importance to our bodies. It is a simple mineral, nothing more but it makes miracles. I tried magnesium couple decades ago and felt how it helped me to rid from headaches. After reading Dr. Carolyn Dean’s The Magnesium Miracle I understand how we are misinformed or just we do not think about our bodies. When car looses tire, we go to the mechanic. When body lost minerals, we do nothing. We wait till bigger problems pop up.
All the best, be healthy and wealthy, Nemira.
