The role of hydrochloric acid in protein digestion is an important one. Why? Without hydrochloric acid, proteins will not separate into amino acids. These amino acids are used in body metabolism. Some people find out that they can not easily digest proteins. Why does it happen?
Hydrochloric acid and protein depend on each other. You would ask how? Hydrochloric acid breaks down proteins into amino acids. Later on, amino acids participate in building and repairing tissues and muscles—however, proteins are involved in producing hydrochloric acid.
Do you see the connection? Deficient hydrochloric acid leads to poor protein digestion. Additionally, the lack of protein causes a lack of hydrochloric acid. It seems like a never-ending cycle.

What can we do?
Consuming easily digestible proteins helps the stomach acid break down more proteins. These proteins will prompt the production of hydrochloric acid. Everything will stand in its place. Simple? Yes. Everything that genially is simple. For example, the Einstein formula.
Look at the Einstein’s formula: E=mc^2. A few numbers opened a new world for scientists and everybody interested in quantum mechanics. Understanding the correlation between magnesium and hydrochloric acid is supposed to be more accessible. Unfortunately, most of us ignore these facts or run for help when something terrible happens.
Vinegar helps for digestion of proteins
In the morning, the apple cider vinegar mixed in a glass of lightly warm water helps break down proteins. In the same way, this drink helps the stomach to produce acid.
The Bragg brand is excellent. It is organic and not filtered. I wonder why it is called the mother? The lack of filtration may let you ask in the way this Bragg apple cider vinegar. Timothy Ferriss, a famous writer and human guinea pig as he calls himself, uses this brand of apple cider vinegar in the morning. Timothy Ferris ads turmeric, too.
Exercises for stomach well-being
Dr. Carolyn Dean recommends performing an exercise called the Stomach Vacuum between meals. This exercise stimulates the production of hydrochloric acid. Besides, Stomach Vacuum Exercise helps work muscles over muscles. If you tuck your belly in, your muscles work, burning fat and getting stronger.
Do you see that simple things lead to beneficial but straightforward results?
Take care of yourself
Stomach Acid can be at low levels when people use GERD drugs. Heartburn treated with GERD drugs. Dr.Carolyn Dean states that these drugs do not solve problems. When hydrochloric acid is low, the digestion of food is reduced. It means that proteins are NOT digested in a whole way, breaking into amino acids.
Consequences of low stomach acid are:
- Food fermentation
- Burping
- Bloating
- Fullness
Conclusion
The role of hydrochloric acid in protein digestion is vital because, without adequate stomach acid, protein does not break down into amino acids. The body’s metabolism suffers. Let’s take care of our body with natural ingredients such as apple cider vinegar and magnesium. Yes, magnesium because this mineral participates in the production of stomach acid.

I’m on aggressive dose of PPI’s bid until esophagitis heals and hiatal hernia is repaired. Is plant protein any better at breaking down into amino acids while on the PPI’s. Anxious to wean off of them but surgery has been delayed for 5 months. Hate being on PPI’s, Is it better to eat as little protein as possible while on this med? I’m worried also about
loss of magnesium/calcium especially and vitamin c, iron, etc. will ask for B12 shots. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thx Glenda
