I think that this is a very helpful article as it contains sufficient information about the health benefits of Spirulina for the nutrition. I agree that success can be achieved by everyone if they are healthy and well.

It is also great that you have included information about the health benefits of the compounds that can be found in the spirulina. I doubt, though, if the information that you have presented with Wikipedia as your source is reliable enough as it might mean some kind of confusion among the other researchers of the field.

    Thanks for this article!

Hello, Changan. I wrote about Spirulina after reading books written by scientists and doctors. Individuals researched this algae in labs, took test with animals and human beings. These results are recorded in books and articles. Here, in my blogs I want to spread message about findings regarding helpful abilities from goodies of Nature. Spirulina, Magnesium, Noni fruit, Cordyceps Sinensis are plants, algae, minerals, and fruits. When you consume natural and organic things you do not have side effects.

Scientists always want to check facts. They do not make false conclusions. When they measure levels of active ingredients, they record it. You can compare nutrients found in Spirulina and Chlorella. For example, scientists measure thickness of cell for both algae and compare them. Spirulina has tiny membrane and is easily digested. Chlorella has thick membrane. What you would choose? I would like to choose a supplement which is easy on my stomach.

If you would like to read about Spirulina here is a book Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health. This book is a result of research. Scientists present results which show that Spirulina is a nutraceutical food supplement.

All the best, be healthy and wealthy, Nemira.

I’m all for protein because I workout 4-5 days a week. I try to eat as healthy as I can but even some of the healthy foods have chemicals too.

I actually take this…so of course, I’m all for Spirulina for my protein and beta-carotene intake. Also healthy for my eyes.

    Great article, thanks!

This is a great review on Spirulina, I heard about this Super food for the first time a few years ago. However, I’ve never used it before, but after reading this review it makes me want to use this product. I live a healthy lifestyle and I’m always looking for new ways to strengthen my immune system. And I like the fact that there are no side effects, however, is there anything that you dislike about Spirulina?

Hello here. I use the Spirulina in the form as tablets. It works pretty well for me because it reminds me a candy, not sweet but something to chew on. For me Spirulina works pretty well because it does not have any side effects. I heard that some people o not like Spirulina’s powder. For them it has slightly metallic taste. If you would use Spirulina with smoothies, you never will feel any taste, just the color will be different.

      All the best, Nemira.

    Hey Nemira,
Thanks for the information. I recently started trying to take a spirulina supplement in powder form. It tastes pretty horrible but I have read how good for you it can be as you have mentioned here. I was wondering if there was any difference between taking tablets or powder? I figure the tablets would be easier to take so may be a better option as long as the quality is still there
    Thanks

Hello, Chris. I do not like powder. It does not matter how I admire Spirulina but powder not for me. I use powder just when I make smoothies. With banana, lemon and pineapple this metalic taste disappears. You can add some stevia for the taste. Tablets is the different case. I chew them as candies. I used to them and I miss them if I skipped one day or two. Spirulina has the same abilities and properties, just powder and tablets are in the different shape and form. Think about water. The ice, fog or liquid are the same water: H2O. The same properties and benefits, just the different form.

All the best, be healthy and wealthy, Nemira.

Hello, Joana Marie. Spirulina, an organic one is a safe food supplement. However , it can be plenty if reasons why you feel like balloon. Maybe you have Candida which makes life miserable or you eat in the wrong way. Once I ate apple after dinner and traveled with bus. Can you imagine how I was bloated. It is best to talk with knowledgeable health practitioner who will find the reason why it happens to you

You can buy Spirulina through Amazon.com, just look for organic brand and for tablets. Tablets are pleasant and are easily chewable. In this book Spirulina for Human Nutrition and Health doctors and scientists recommend Spirulina as nutraceutical food supplement. It means that Spirulina has therapeutic abilities.

    Great article, Nemira!

It’s actually marvelous when one knows what good these little batteries could actually do to our bodies.

Getting to know what’s going on on the inside of our bodies is a bless, as it is for all the useful knowledge.

Now, and thanks to sites like yours, we can live healthier and share awareness around where we live.

Your article about spirulina is amazing, my dear.
I learned a lot, and I’m now aware that spirulina is actually something that I can use as I recently had some stomach issues! (doubting it’s junk food, Lol)

Keep up the good info coming,
    Cheers!

Hello here. Yes, when I think how our ancestors lived and worked, I think that we lost something important by our way to the progress. We disturb the balance of body with junk food, sedentary way of life and later on we wonder why we do not feel well.

Our habits, especially these which do not work for us, do not lead anywhere. What we can do is just get a grip, ask for somebody to check on us and take care of our wellbeing. Without it, we will be in the vicious cycle of misery and various problems.

All the best, be healthy and wealthy, Nemira.

I am aware of some of the benefits of using spirulina, but you mentioned some facts in your article which I did not know.
I have never taken spirulina capsules. Also, I have never came across the actual plant before. But I normally sprinkle spirulina powder over my meals and regularly use them in smoothies. It has helped to control my appetite.

Hello, Spirulina works as nutraceutical food. It means that algae has therapeutical abilities. Dr. Christopher Hills, a famous proponent of Spirulina told that Spirulina is better as the money. It can save us as the food source and supplement in cases of disaster which has mostly all vital nutrients. Cheers:)

Hello. Just starting Spirulina myself. I am consuming a dry powder form of spirulina. Is the difference between the raw and dried formulas so great that we should be consuming the raw? Since starting 1 tablespoon a day for the past 3 days I am noticing cramping in my bowel. I never have this so I am certain this is the cause. Is this normal? Thank you!

Hello, Teresa. Sorry, I cannot give a medical advice because it is best to consult a professional health practitioner. Of course, Spirulina is an alga and it is natural food. People used it in the past without technologies. I do not know about raw because I prefer to consume only organic cold dried Spirulina which is tested in the lab. Safety is first:)
