What Does It Mean?

What does it mean? The term pH stands for the power of hydrogen. pH indicates the quantity level of hydrogen ions in a solution. When we talk about humans, in this case,  our blood plasma would be a subject here. When we consume food, our body burns nutrients. These nutrients become the energy for our bodies. However, combustion produces by-products such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen ions.

If these hydrogen ions remain in the blood for a prolonged time in large quantities, our ph balance is acid. It means that the pH is lower than 7.

The Importance of Oxygen Ions


Oxygen ions evacuate hydrogens from the body when hydrogen concentration becomes high. The hydrogen removal requires a vast amount of oxygen ions. We can be quickly tired when oxygen ions evacuate hydrogen ions.

You would ask why these oxygen ions are so necessary? The oxygen participates in cellular respiration. Oxygen molecules participate in the compound of proteins, fats, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates.

If our body lacks oxygen, which evacuates hydrogen ions from the body, we can be tired. The blood plasma becomes acidic. Vitality disappears.

The Cause of Acidic Constitution


Diet and stress are the primary reasons. If our diet is deficient in minerals such as magnesium, potassium,  and sodium, acidity tends to develop in human beings.

We would think that food and vitamins can provide us with all the needed minerals and active ingredients. However, most soil is depleted of minerals — chemical ingredients for prolonging shelf time, such as preservatives added to food staples.

People consume acid-producing foods. They do not know why they feel tired and not fulfilled.

You would ask what kind of acid-producing foods are?

All meat, rice, wheat, popcorn, pasta, and bread are common acid-forming foods.

These conditions, such as improper diet, stress, and environmental issues, cause our bodies to become acidic.

    Hi Nemira. I like your post about Spirulina. I am glad to read that it can lower acidity in the body. I was worried about that because I know cancer can form in acidic enveiromment but not in alkaline. I was thinking of adding some kind of green powder in my diet. I thought about chlorella, but now, my choice is Spirulina. Which one is healthier. Thank you for your reply.
