Hi, I am the flamingo. You and I can be in shape with Spirulina. Yes. You and I have similarities. We both consume shrimps and algae. For me, brine shrimp and blue-green algae; for you, whiteleg shrimp, giant tiger prawn, fleshy prawn, and Spirulina with Chlorella.

Staying in Shape with Spirulina

My large colony and I are skinny birds. Our plumage is reddish. We live in lakes. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner consist of filtered mud and silt from food through the shaped bill. Blue-green algae and brine shrimp are delicatessens for us. We flamingoes get the best nutritious food. Spirulina gives us strength, energy, and vitality.

Can You Stay in Shape with Spirulina?

Yes, you and I both can remain in shape with Spirulina. Did you ever saw a giant flamingo? From a thousand pounds of shrimps, I can bet that nobody could imagine how the giant flamingo looks.

I am sorry that human beings, so evolved species, have problems with weight. My advice: natural food and Spirulina could keep you in shape. Look at us. Aren’t we beautiful, skinny, and gracious?

Shape with Spirulina

Yes, I know that birds and humans differ. However, Spirulina is the source of nutrients, which give the bodybuilding material for metabolism, growth, and survival. The Spirulina as food is non-hazardous and safe. Spirulina does not have any side effects.

We, flamingoes, consistently consume blue-green algae. Look at us. Our fancy feathers range from a pink color to bright red due to beta carotene from the food supply.

Spirulina has potent probiotic compounds such as more than 60 percent of proteins, vitamins, beta-carotene, and antioxidants. According to books, the Spirulina is efficient as a hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic agent.

Keeping up in Shape with Spirulina

Flamingoes are always on the move. We are social creatures and live in large colonies; we fly or search for food. Thankfully, the blue-green algae give us energy and strength. I heard from relatives who attended from flamingoes who live in zoos that people do not move so much. They walk but do not run as their children do. Exercises and proper nutrition are fundamental to being in shape.

Exercise does not need to be mandatory or shore. It needs to be fun or recreation. We must take pleasure from understanding that we can move from one point to another.

Spirulina contains substantial amounts of fatty acid GLA, which helps regulate the entire hormone system in the human body. The Spirulina is easily absorbed and helps keep healthy intestinal flora.

Flamingoes have shaped bills that separate food. You, humans, do not have this ability. You can not pick right away from lake algae because it is mixed with dirt.

Spirulina and Chlorella harvested on farms are safe for consumption. The environment control and safety standards settled for water and nutrients.

Let’s keep in shape with Spirulina because well-being gives us the ability to enjoy the wonders of life on this precious Earth.

To be honest I have never heard of Spirulina but after reading your thorough article I gather it’s a rich source of minerals and vitamins found in the warm climate lakes of Africa and Central / South America where you Flamingos live.

How do we purchase filtered Spirulina, does it come in tablet form, tinned or packaged? Sounds an excellent product for helping slim down like you Flamingos, it’s all down to healthy eating to maintain bodily functions working in tip top form and mixing that with plenty of exercise like Flamingos are renowned for.

Thanks for this wondrous slimming tip, keep eating the Spirulina and exercising,

Hi, Simon, nobody promotes Spirulina because there are no profit, a real profit. Manufacturers and sellers earn their share, but the consumption is not so big as for chemicals. I am glad that scientists and doctors made an enormous research regarding Spirulina ‘s nutraceutical infuence for people. This book is full of evidences which show hiw Spirulina can improve our lives.Thirty years ago Spirulina was widely popular in the USA. Somehow people forgot it as the source of vital nutrients and turned to fast food and sedentary life. Of course there are individuals who want to love productive and joyful lives.

Real information is a real king in this busy world. We bombarded with various offers how to be slim after one week. It would be nice but it does not work. We need gradually take care of our health in all ways such as exercise, nutrients and the clear mind.

When I see these gorgeous flamingoes I enjoy their appearance and character. They live on Spirulina and they are slim. Can we do the same? Not, but we can choose what do we put in mouth.

Spirulina comes as powder, tablets or pills. I prefer tablets. I chew them. For me Spirulina is as candy. Of course, I do not skip chocolate but Spirulina is nice addtion to the menu

      All the best, Nemira.

Hi, Jeffrey. I eat Spirulina every day as candy. I consume tablets because pills have cover. I buy organic Spirulina from NowFoods company. I know that there is just 100% Spirulina. You can see on the label ingredients. The taste of Spirulina is slightly sour, but I like it. I guess that my body needs these nutrients and welcomes Spirulina any time when I take Spirulina tablets. I chew them slowly. I use ReMag dissolved in water. this drink and Spirulina works for me pretty well. You read more about Spirulina here because I wrote few more blogs about this miraculous product. No side effects, just vital nutrients such as proteins, amino acids, enzymes, minerals, vitamins and amino acids.

      All the best, Nemira.

Hi Nemira. Entertaining read, especially when you wrote from a flamingo’s point of view. Truthfully, I’ve never known that flamingos also consume spirulina, albeit accidentally. I’ve heard about the supplement a few years ago, but never really paid attention to it because I thought it was just a hype at that route. Now I might need to check it out again after learning how it can be a good way to keep in shape. Anyways, I believe the only way to get spirulina in our body is by supplements right? We can not get it naturally from foods, like how flamingos got it?

Hello, Isaac. I guess that you do not have a bill as flamingoes have. You can not separate mud from algae. Flamingoes consume not just Spirulina. The eat wild green-blue algae which is similar to Spirulina. People are more sensitive what is regarding food. It is better to get Spirulina from certified farms, where control and inspection of food quality provided.I compared flamingoes and humans as species who eat similar food and can survive just on it. One Japanese scientist lived fifteen years eating just Spirulina. It shows that Spirulina can provide all vital nutrients. I know that scientists can sacrifice themselves for the sake of discoveries. However this guy lived pretty long time consuming just Spirulina.

Spirulina is nutraceutical food. Taking few tablets a day will give you strength and vitality.

      All the best, Nemira.

    Hi Nemira,

Very cool article and very informative. I loved how you wrote from the point of view of a flamingo – very clever. I had no idea that flamingos consume spirulina but I am not surpriced. There is so much to learn from the non-humans regarding food – it’s very interesting.

I have used Spirulina before in my green drinks, but found it hard to enjoy because of its taste in powder form – it’s very intense. I haven’t tried it in candy form so I will certainly look into that.

    Thanks!

Hello, Lidia. I knew that flamingoes live by lakes in Africa and other countries. I thought that do they eat constantly? It seems that nature is as always smarter. Humans can not eat the same wild algae because we are spoiled by ving conditions. The digestive system is different. However, Spirulina resides in these lakes together with other blue- green algae.

I adore flamingoes as birds which are exitic, unusual and are social beings.

Spirulina in tablets does not have so bright taste as the Spirulina in powder form. My body needs nutrients and Ieat Spirulina every day.

      All the best, Nemira.

Hello, James. You can consume 10-12 tablets per day of Spirulina. Usually, one tablet of Spirulina contains 500mg. It is a standard weight. Be sure to buy organic Spirulina because these certified farms produce Spirulina following strict rules. I like Hawaiin Spirulin! Earthrise farms production, NowFoods Spirulina. Look where is used cold air in the production. In this way minerals stay intact. All nutrients are active and will give you best valueas the nutraceutical product.

Now, when I write this answer to you, I chew Spirulina in form of tablets. I do not feel any metalic taste.

    Hi Nemira,
I agree that exercise should be fun and recreational and I am surprised at the many people dread it and view it as a chore. Problems with weight has increased so dramatically because of processed foods and lack of movement. To be honest, I have never heard of spirulina before and or that it is sold as a health food or supplement. Are there any side effects from taking spirulina or are there certain situations where one should not use this (health conditions)? Is it safe for children and pregnant women? There are many supplements available that have interacted with conventional medications, does spirulina interfere with medications in this way?
Spirulina sounds like it can provide great benefits to people because it is rich in protein, vitamins, and carotenoids which is a good source of nutrients. What forms does Spirulina come in? I am definitely going to check into this because it sounds like a terrific way to help a person stay healthy and slim just like the flamingos. Thank you for the great information.

Hello, Dana. You are right that without fun we would treat most everything as shore. I miss this attitude when people where engaged in various activities from dancing to walking. Sometimes I think that people lost or never know the joy of living. Of course, there are no interest to move if somebody cares 200 or 100 pounds over limit.

It is interesting that I met plenty of people who never heard about Spirulina. Maybe I was introduced many years ago with various healthy products from Tianshi, a worldwide company. My attention caught the book written by Christopher Hills about Spirulina. This discovery lead to other sources as the last one written by doctors and scientists: Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health.

Spirulina comes as powder, capsules, pills or tablets. Tablets work for me in the best way. I chew them as candies. It has slight metallic taste but for me reminds lemon. Spirulina does not have any side effects. Of course, if you would consume enormous amounts, it would be no fun in the same way as you drink to much water or consume to much one type of food. Spirulina does not interact with conventional medicine. Of course, it is great to consult with smart health practioner.

If you would read this particular book, you would see all benefits from Spirulina, such as strengthening of immune system, helping liver, kidneys, lungs, detoxifying body. Spirulina provides antiviral and anticancer effects. This information is in this book Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health.

What an entertaining article, thank you! I really enjoyed reading this.
I’ve taken spirulina regularly in the past, for it’s health benefits but I must confess, there is a partially used container of it in my kitchen! You have inspired me to get stuck into this magically nutritious powder again.

Hello, Joanne. Yes, Spirulina is a treasure from Nature. I like dark chocolate but after Spirulina and magnesium , I see that am not crazy about cakes, sweets and ice cream. Sometimes I think that it would be nice but when I drive by store, I skip and I do not regret. The body gets all vital nutrients and it does not crave for additional junk food. When I look back to childhood we did not have sweets every day. I did not crave for them. Adults are smarter and experienced but they make decisions which harm them. I think that lifestyle is important and makes an impact to our decisions.

Every day I take Spirulina in tablets and chew. I like taste and feeling that nutrients will give something good for me, not just empty calories. The health is most important asset in our lives besides time. We have so much to do for ourselves and others.

Is this something you buy in supplement from at a pharmacy? Or is it natural in the foods we eat? Wherever I can get it – I want some! 😀 Thanks for the great post!

Hello here. I guess that you can buy Spirulina at some of the pharmacies but it is the best way to go to the health food stories or buy on the amazon.com organic Spirulina. You can check options in my blog: https://treatforlife.com/spirulina-for-healthy-gut-bacteria. You can get Spirulina from food. Of course, if you go to the Mexico or Africa, where Spirulina has harvested hundreds of years ago, you will taste and but in local markets such dried cakes. However, I would prefer to buy organic Spirulina from amazon.com. Factories which grow Spirulina have strict restrictions and safety rules. They produce a product which is without additional algae or other traces. Flamingoes can feed themselves with various algae because they used to it during lives. Humans can benefit in a safer way because we live in environment there is stress, pollution and other factors which require protection.

Flamingoes relaxed. They feast in beautiful lakes, breath fresh and clean air. They do want the Mother Nature whispers to do. Why can we humans not have comfortable lives? Yes, I know, the civilization has own price.

Overall I feel completely fine. If I get cold I reach for Cordyceps Sinensis, the best antibiotic, the natural one.

Hello here. Yes, you can find information in Christopher Hills book Slimming with Spirulina and Spirulina in Human Health and Nutrition. You do not need sit just on Spirulina but you can enrich your body with vital nutrients and in this way your body will require less calories.

People eat to much when they consume empty food such as junk food. It is fulfilling but it does not give needed nutrients. The body starves and asks more to eat because we are hungry. It is a vicious cycle. If you will talk with people who are conscious about their wellbeing you will find out that Spirulina helps to stay in shape.

Hello, Lula Renteria. Yes, Spirulina was popular in seventies. I learned about it from Christopher Hils books. He wrote so passionately about Spirulina. He worked together with scientists from Japan because Japanese use Spirulina everywhere. They feed fish, use in beauty products, consume Spirulina at every stage of life, from children to seniors. Christopher Hills saw many possibilities for Spirulina usage. He wrote that many problems such as hunger or health issues could be solved using Spirulina. Unfortunately, he could not openly promote Spirulina because it was restricted by regulatory agencies.

Nowadays the book written by doctors and scientists, filled up with extensive research come to life. I use the information from it because there are evidences, facts from scientific research provided. This book is Spirulina in Human Health and Nutrition.

I am a big fan of spirulina along with other micronutrients sources as moringa, chlorella, maca and others. 🙂

I have tried both powder which I mic with smoothies, and as a pill, which is very easy to swallow…I’m still into the powder until now but haven’t bought ones in pill form yet again. Will definitely continue consuming it, I only took it for energy, not for slimming down. Thanks!

Hello, Marie, I use Spirulina constantly and sometimes I skip my lunch because I feel full. I do not want to eat. I think that it is the reason for slimming with Spirulina. Fewer calories, more nutrients. I like tablets, they are pleasant as green candies. The powder works in the same but it has more expressed taste, which I like to conceal with bananas and pineapple. Works pretty well. All the best, be healthy and wealthy, Nemira.
