I have more to do besides worrying about my health. The first time I stumbled upon magnesium citrate was two decades ago. I walked with one person who could not stop talking. Usually, I do not experience headaches, but at this time, I got one.

I excused myself politely and marched to the nearest pharmacy. I bought magnesium citrate. I remembered thinking, what the heck is with magnesium? Anyway, I mixed the powder with water and swallowed. The taste was good.

Okay, what am I going to do? The doctor prescribed me pills for my skin problems. Luckily,  I read about side effects in the annotation on the medicine label for the first time in my life. Besides, the price was high for me.

Side effects were hair loss, hallucinations, and something else that I do not remember now. However, it was enough for me to fall into a panic attack and call my friend.

She is a doctor but works as a beautician in her clinic. She asked if am nuts. I assured her that I was not. Her advice was to return the medicine to the pharmacy as soon as possible and get other things.

Her advice served me well. I forgot about my troubles after a few days. The itchiness was gone, with no acne and inflammation. B vitamin complex, calcium gluconate, and Brilliant Green Valentis were my saviors. All these things are natural and side-effect free. Besides it, I got my skin back with the awareness of the lurking dangers of drugs.

Bodyweight in kilograms multiplied by 0.8. For example, if you weigh 80 kilos, you need 80 x 0.8=64 grams of protein daily. For infants, you need to multiply by two, and for growing adolescents, by 1.2.

Imperial version


You multiply body weight in pounds by 0.36; if your weight is  176 lbs, 176 x 0.36=63.36g of protein daily.

For infants, multiply by 0.9; and for growing adolescents, multiply by 0.54.

 

Protein types


Proteins can be animal-based or plant-based proteins.

We need a clean product from chemicals, toxins, antibiotics, and artificial colors or sweeteners.

Words such as grass-fed, without hormones, or hormone-free, cold processed show that proteins are good quality.

As a result, a slightly lower physiological pH must be corrected, and buffers like calcium are used to attenuate thisthesethis these adverse acid effects to the host’s disadvantage.

Cancer cells prefer an acidic environment. It means it can be a lottery where you can get the unlucky ticket. T. Colin Campbell states that casein is a problem-maker.

Besides, countries, where people eat a lot of meat, have higher cancer rates. Heart diseases, kidney stones, hypertension, osteoporosis, and diabetes happen more often.

The body will miss vitamins, fibers, and other nutrients such as calcium by choosing animal-based proteins.

When choosing an animal-based protein, you must be sure it comes from a reliable source, not from factory animals treated with antibiotics and hormones.

You know that hormones, antibiotics, and drugs cannot bring health to your body. Animals who stay inside farms do not eat grass, get plenty of hormones and antibiotics to stimulate growth, and will not provide provided functional quality proteins.

His study, The China Study, got many followers and advocates. However, the meat can come from different sources, too:  from animals treated with chemicals and creatures grass-fed with no chemicals in their body. It is a big difference. I can compare it with water from the tap with all ranges of the Mendeleyev periodic table and filtered water, with only one formula: H2O.

The proponent Dr. Loren Cordain, Professor in the Department of Health& Exercise Science at Colorado State University and author of The Paleo Diet has a different opinion. He thinks about protein powder as whole food from sources, clean of chemicals, hormones, and antibiotics. Protein powder must be non-GMO and rBGH-free. We need all essential amino acids, zero casein, traces of lactose,  fiber, and prebiotics inside protein powder.

Plant-based and dairy proteins


Plant-based proteins come from hemp, soy, rice, and pea. Soy is not the best choice because it can interact with the thyroid. Most of the soy in the USA is modified. It means you do not know what can happen in the long run with your body.

However, plant-based proteins are not the best solution because it lacks amino acids.

Dairy protein can be from whey or casein. Plenty of people can be allergic to casein.

Whey protein fits best because it contains all of the essential amino acids. Besides, whey protein is high in branched-chain amino acids such as leucine, isoleucine, glutamine, and valine.

The difference between whey concentrate and whey isolate

Tips for better sleep efficiency are simple. There are no-brainer and new inventions.  People of all ages must sleep for at least 7-9 hours. During sleep, the whole body rests and rejuvenates. A good night’s rest depends on a few factors.

Turn off the electricity


You know that keeping the phone close to your head can affect the brain. It can interrupt sleep and harm health. There are cases associated with tumors after continually holding phones by the side.

Electricity can affect sleep because the electromagnetic field is unnatural for the body.

Besides, the blue light from devices interrupts the production of melatonin, the sleeping hormone. This hormone promotes sleep.

You can read a book before sleep. It will relax you and prepare you for the night’s sleep.

Have the last meal at six p.m.


People can have heartburn after full meals late at night. The whole stomach does not let easily catch sleep. Skipping alcohol and food with caffeine will allow you to sleep easier. Dealing With Procrastination

Everybody knows that dealing with procrastination is not the real thing. Why? It is a waste of time. Because sooner or later, we need to face a problem and deal with it. It is not easy to meet issues, but we will feel refreshed and energized if we manage our tasks and challenges.

Just try it


Always consider your options and ways to avoid doing this or creating a burden for us. We constantly worry about how it will be. We are continuously concerned about how it will be or what kind of consequences can be. It is better to try and see how we can finish what we started. We procrastinate with our plans to tell somebody how we appreciate them and love them. We think our lives will improve after one or a few months, after New Year or retirement.

The best time is present


Best thinkers and writers told said that the best time is now. Time to start a new job, lose weight, find friends, fix your bed, learn the original language or how to grow strawberries, or get rid of old things which clutter your closets and minds.

Of course, it is great not to try water with both feet. It would help if you made plans and contemplated them, but not the whole eternity. Time is a precious thing. We can not buy it or save it in a safety deposit box. Sometimes, when we wait too long, our opportunities can be slim. Taking action is the best thing to move you from the dead point. Do you know this old saying that Rome was not built in a few days? Everything starts with small steps.

Do not postpone what you want to do


It is excellent when you can be polite with yourself but at the same time encourage and push yourself towards the desired goal. I do not know anybody happy postponing things close to my heart.

Live your life now. Enjoy every minute of it. Do what you always dreamed of doing because the latter can be other situations or possibilities that can disappear. Of course, life always opens new doors after closing old ones.

I guess that nobody needs the explanation that Harvard is. This word is associated with old history, scientific discoveries, and famous alumni.

An update. Nowadays, it is a controversial institution that supports the idea of blocking the sun. Climate change, anyone?

I got a newsletter from them because I guess they send it to all individuals who care about well-being. I will go through all the topics presented, and you can decide whether it works for you or not.

Be careful taking supplements


Supplements are a few billion worth of industries. Understandably, everybody presents their product as the best and most beneficial. However, there are plenty of details hidden under pompous words.

Supplements with a neutral scientific foundation, evidence, and positive customer feedback that their health improved more than before could benefit individuals.

Of course, a placebo effect can work better as a natural supplement. It is proven. However, accessories such as magnesium cannot be replaced with positive thoughts. If you need minerals, you need. The body cannot get them from the air or the imagination.

  • Consider intermittent fasting. It means that you ate last time at seven in the evening, and the following day the first meal could be at ten or eleven a.m. At least 14 hours must be between meals. I heard this information on NBC regarding Alzheimer’s prevention.

In Europe, people eat differently compared to North America. Usually, the dinner is at 2 p.m., and supper is at six p.m. The breakfast is at seven or eight in the morning. You see that people have a long break between meals naturally.

 According to Harvard Health Newsletter, foods such as fish, olive oil, and nuts benefit from lowering the risk of dementia or Alzheimer’s. Overall, I wonder why people have lost good eating habits. Most of us come to North America from Europe. Primarily Italians are known for their famous Mediterranian cuisine.

Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D., recognizes the importance of fatty amino acids, which lower inflammation. There are two fatty amino acids: omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These acids have a funny name:  PUFAs. It means polyunsaturated fatty acids.

However, omega-3 fatty acids provide more benefits for the body because they lower inflammation.

Sorry, it is an exaggeration. However, facts tell that obesity can increase up to twenty-five percent for every two hours of watching a newsletter. Not so much fun here. You can add junk food to the whole picture, and it is clear why people get unhappy when they do not fit into airplane seats.

  • The red wine protects people from the usual cold.
  • Yoga helps to keep balance and increase concentration and flexibility. Yoga has been around for thousands of years. Why do we discover good things so late?
  • The laugh is an excellent prevention against stress, depression, fear, and inflammation in the arteries. It seems that laughter helps increase good cholesterol.
  • You can reduce plaque in arteries by eating meals from the Mediterranean diet. Exercise may help too to prevent the hardening of arteries. In this way, you may avoid a stroke or heart attack.

Safety from the sun is more important than a few decades ago. Having a  suntan was a sign of health. Now people are concerned about the increased risks of skin cancer. You can easily protect yourself and your loved ones if you follow some rules.

Use right sunscreens


You would think that the higher the number of SPF, the better sun protection is. Unfortunately, it is not the case. If you got a sunscreen with the number 100, it is supposed to block at least 99 percent of sun rays. Sorry, it is not the case.

Sunscreens work best and have active chemical ingredients such as avobenzone. Components such as titan dioxide, zinc oxide, or both of them perform less and do not protect so well as sunscreens with active chemical ingredients.

The recommendation is to use sunscreens with the number SPF 30 and higher.

Not all sunscreens are of good quality. For example, octinoxate and oxybenzone, chemical UV filters can cause hormonal changes.

Another ingredient, retinyl palmitate, can cause cancer when exposed to light. It is known from animal studies, but if it is not suitable for our furry friends, why do we need to risk our health?

Picking the right thoughts if we want to reach something does not matter; we need to have the right mindset. By choosing the right thoughts, we move in the right direction. Our philosophy consists of beliefs, ideas, values, habits, opinions, and identity. It means how we analyze and interpret what we see and feel the experience. Our mindset has a significant influence on our life events and their consequences. If we think that we can achieve everything, we will succeed. Of course, we need to take action. Sitting on a bench in the park is suitable for a short time. However, accomplishing your dreams and reaching your goals takes more than an honest thought about what you want.

Analyze your thoughts and beliefs


Usually,  we do not think and do not explain why our lives go in this or a different direction. We drift and enjoy our journey. If it is what you want is perfect. Why?  You are happy with your lifestyle. Unfortunately, many people are not content with their vacation here, on this precious Earth. They are not satisfied with the government, politics, employers, or weather. They do not think they would be on the other train mindset with the right—Train, which brings them to their dreams and goals.

Choosing right direction


We can stop and shift our beliefs in the right direction by analyzing behavior and thoughts from where they came from. Everything is in our hands. Of course, there is the most significant Power; it does not matter how you call it: God, Supreme Being, or Universal Mind. If humankind were sitting in one place expecting God to do everything for them, our civilization would be at the level of cave dwellers. If we do not analyze our thoughts, we function as automats. It means that our mindsets lead our lives. Some beliefs, such as money grown on trees or money, are dirty and do not keep us from moving in the direction where these questions and ideas are not welcome. Why? Because negativity always attracts negativity. As the sun forces us to take clothes off in summer, a positive attitude and the right mindset create an environment where we can progress. These advances can be in any direction.

Choose right mindset


The right mindset enables us to go after our goals. There is no stagnation because thinking good thoughts, and hanging habits to habits, which help us reach perfection and contentment in our lives, make us happy and relaxed. We know that everything will be okay. If something goes in the wrong direction, we stop, relax, and make other decisions. We know that we can trust in ourselves.

Using the power of imagination, we can reach heights extended far up for us before. The power of visualization has been proven thousands, if not millions, of times. Before the competition is in their heads, their leaders have the full image of what will be before they round the match. Sometimes people block their minds with worries. In this case, your visualization will divide into two pieces. From one side, you want to achieve results. From another side,  you are objecting to them.

 Before sleep, your mind is relaxed. Continually repeating the same sentences, what you want to achieve, penetrates your mind. When your unwanted thoughts wish to take over, you gently turn to your active sentences, which will deeper and deeper fulfill your ideas.
