Magnesium for Keto Diet

July 12, 2017 By Nemira Leave a Comment

Can you imagine what the Keto Diet was thirty years ago? It is like fashion, which comes and goes with the life flow. What is the Keto Diet? Keto Diet is high in fat and protein. Most of the protein foods are from the diary. Dairy products have plenty of calcium. Here, the Magnesium for Keto Diet comes into the picture.

Keto Diet is high in calcium and low in magnesium. When magnesium is deficient, calcium flows in the bloodstream because there is no magnesium to let calcium in the cell. The calcium builds up in soft tissues, creating pain and bumps.

Magnesium for Keto Diet

Keto practitioners experience muscle cramps and constipation. Keto Diet restricted carbs. You can get just five percent of carbs. According to Dr. Carolyn Dean, M.D., N.D., 5 percent of carbs in the Keto Diet can be one carrot.

The Keto Diet does not have fibers. You know that fibers help move food down the digestive tract. Where can you find threads in proteins and fats? Are you going to chew collagen?

The Keto Diet consists of 65 percent of fats, 35 percent of proteins, and five percent of carbs.

According to Timothy Ferriss, the author of Titan Tools, a ketonic diet erased all Lyme disease symptoms. After one year, when he tried the ketonic diet, symptoms did not return. Of course, he is happy with this outcome.

How does the Keto diet work?

The body uses fat and protein for fuel. Fat is stored, and the body burns fat from these stories and the food, too — ketones derived from fat — usually the glucose used for energy. Keto Diet skips carbohydrates. It means that the body will burn ketones from fat. This condition is called ketosis.

Timothy Ferriss mentions that individuals can reach the state of ketosis in various ways, such as fasting, exogenous ketones, diet, or a combination.

The Precision Xtra device by Abbot will show you if you are in a ketosis state. Beta-hydroxybutyrate(BHB) in blood and glucose levels need to be 0,5-1 mmol (millimolar).

Timothy Ferriss, the author of Tools of Titans, in his interview with  Dominic D’Agostino, the scientist and researcher, pointed out that the ketonic state increases the level of performance, increases strength, and burns fat.

Overall, I would recommend reading his book Tools of Titans, a valuable source of information, newest discoveries, and insights.

Ketones have an anti-inflammatory effect, too.

Keto Diet has 70-80 percent of calories coming from fat.  I wonder how many minerals and vitamins you can get from fat?

Conclusion

Magnesium for Keto Diet is vital because proteins and fats do not have as many minerals as green vegetables. Besides, we can not get enough magnesium from greens because the soil is depleted of minerals. It means that magnesium supplements could help avoid complications such as constipation, calcification, and muscle cramps.

No To Worthless Food

June 23, 2017 By Nemira Leave a Comment

Healthy food gives us vital nutrients. We must say no to cheap food. Why? Without the proper nutrients, our bodies can not function properly.

How can we say no to worthless food?

Most of us buy food in chain stories. Sellers are interested in profits. They want a prolonged shelf life for food items. How can they achieve that? Food must be processed and preserved with chemicals. Various packages such as cans or plastics prolong food life on the shelf. It is suitable for the seller and manufacturer. How about us?

With preservatives, we get plenty of unfriendly substances which do not belong to the body. The body can not digest or absorb it.

We have ways to change our habits and consume food free from chemicals. How can we know what is right for us?

  • Read labels. Please put them aside if you see words you can not pronounce or remember. It is dry food.
  • Support local farmers. You can share with your neighbors the ride to the farmer’s market.
  • Use fresh food without mold or white sugar.
  • Try to prepare food for one day. Do not heat it again because all nutrients lose value after heat.

Eat your ancestor’s food

I can bet that your grandparents did not use sodas, sugar, and white flour. These items are harmful and full of empty calories. Your genes remember what your ancestors ate. You do not need to follow traditional diets blindly. You can take the best recipes which are tasty for you and your family.

Our grandmothers encouraged us to eat vegetables. They knew that fresh food brings all vitamins, enzymes, proteins, and fats in an easily digestible form. Plants have plenty of fibers that help remove waste from our bodies. We do not move so much as our ancestors did. The fast food and lack of fresh fruits and vegetables bring problems to our lives. We must say no to cheap food because our well-being depends on it.

What is most important is what we need to think about preventing chronic diseases. We can accomplish this task by leading a proper lifestyle and having nutritious food.

Nobody likes to talk about constipation. It is nothing to brag about. It is not a new iPhone or the last model of video games. However, the toxication can occur when food stays in the intestine and can not move out.

Prepare food at home

No to Worthless Food

It is not complicated to prepare fermented foods, chop salad, steam fish, or cook a big pot of broth. We can make homemade bread that is from natural and nutritious grains.

What is most important is what we need to think about preventing chronic diseases. We can accomplish this task by leading a proper lifestyle and having nutritious food. Food supplements such as pico-ionic minerals help us to replenish missing nutrients.

Nuts, seeds, beans, vegetables, fruits, fermented products, and fish are full of vital nutrients. Well-being is essential for us because we can take care of ourselves, our family, and our community when we are okay. Nobody will tell you what kind of food you must eat. Producers are interested in their profit. We will not die from processed food, but we will lose vitality. It is better to say no to cheap food and consume nutritious full of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, proteins, and a fast diet.

Spirulina and Nutrition

October 6, 2016 By Nemira 22 Comments

Spirulina and nutrition have close relationships. Why? Proper nutrition is the key to wellness, growth, development,  and joy. Spirulina is a 21st-century food. These blue-green algae contain vital enzymes, vitamins, minerals, proteins, and amino acids.

According to the book Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health, Spirulina is a high-nutraceutical phenomenon.

You would ask, what is nutraceutical?

Nutraceutical means food that has suitable additives and healing abilities. It implies that Spirulina is an excellent choice for those who want to be healthy and in good shape.

Spirulina consists of proteins, balanced fatty acids, vitamins,  and minerals. Spirulina is food that helps tackle diabetes, anemia, cancer, arthritis, and more health problems.

Spirulina and nutrition

According to Wikipedia, nutrition is a science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food for an organism’s maintenance, growth, reproduction, health, and disease.

Spirulina is easily digestible food and rich in nutrients. For example,  one tablespoon a day can relieve iron anemia. Iron anemia is a common mineral deficiency.

When soil is depleted,  animals and birds, the food source for humans, are fed up with substances lacking nutrients and full of chemicals; humans do not get enough nutrients from food.  Spirulina is an excellent source of essentials for growth and development for people.

The role of fatty acids

Spirulina is rich in fatty acids. Fatty acids are the source of fuel. No fuel, no ride. The human body does not produce essential body acids. We must get fatty acids from food.

Two fatty acids are vital for humans: an omega-3 fatty acid( alpha-linolenic) and an omega-6 fatty acid( linoleic acid).

Primarily fatty acids serve multiple functions in the human body.

Fatty acids play a significant role in treating depression, inflammation, and metabolic processes.

In the book,  Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health authors emphasize the antimicrobial activity of Spirulina. Linolenic and linoleic acids have therapeutic value in cardiovascular diseases, menstrual disorders, skin diseases, hypercholesterolemia, and other disorders.

The human body produces GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) from linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid). GLA is found in primrose oil, edible hemp seeds,  and spirulina. GLA ( gamma-linolenic acid) plays a role in antimicrobial activity.

Vitamins

Spirulina supplies are rich in vitamins such as A, B-complex, beta C, D, and E.

Beta-carotene or provitamin A

Vitamin A helps maintain mucous membranes and pigments necessary for good vision.

According to Robert Hendrikson, author of Earth Food Spirulina, carotene reduces the risks of cancers. Environmental issues and poor nutrition can be triggers for cancer. Beta carotene can reduce risks.

B-complex vitamins

Spirulina contains more B vitamins than beef liver, sea vegetables, or chlorella.

Minerals

Spirulina contains iron, a mineral that is vital for human bodies. Without iron, anemia can occur. People who suffer from anemia experience dizziness, ringing in the ears, lack of stamina, and loss of color in the face. There are heart palpitations and shortness of breath.

Iron is part of hemoglobin, a protein molecule in red blood cells. Red blood cells transport oxygen from the lungs to tissues and organs of the human body.

When anemia occurs, oxygen levels decrease, and people become tired quickly.

Spirulina is a great iron supplement because the absorption percentage of iron is 60% higher than other iron supplements, such as iron sulfate.

Spirulina contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese, copper,  and chromium.

Chlorophyll

Spirulina contains significant amounts of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is known as a cleansing agent. Chlorophyll can bind toxic metals and help the liver to rid of them.

Chlorophyll has the effect of curing inflammation of the mucous membranes. Gastritis and gastric ulcers are eased with the support of Spirulina.

Enzymes

Enzymes are biochemical catalysts. They influence the reaction in the body, such as quenching free radicals. As you know, free radicals increase metals’ aging and corrosion. Free radicals damage cells and proteins in the body.

It means Spirulina contains enzymes that prevent the body from being damaged by free radicals.

Conclusion

Spirulina is a stable source of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and enzymes. Spirulina is easily digested, without side effects nutritious supplement. The correlation between Spirulina and nutrition is enormous.

Spirulina is a healthy nutraceutical food and a reliable supply of vital nutrients.

How to Protect the Liver from Alcohol

September 23, 2016 By Nemira 2 Comments

The liver is the biochemical factory in our bodies. How to protect the liver from alcohol? The vital functions of the liver are analysis and synthesis, storage, and detoxification. The liver is the largest organ in the human body.

People consumed alcohol for ages. I can not imagine French culture without cognac, cheese,  and wine. Irish people are famous for whiskey, Japanese with sake.

Know your limits

Unfortunately, people do not know the limits. They consume too much alcohol. The damage would be done fast enough.

The liver can dispose of 10 millimeters of alcohol per hour. It means that if we drink more, the liver cannot detoxicate the alcohol.

How to protect the liver from alcohol?

Eat proteins

Most all enzymes which break down the alcohol are made from proteins. It means that proteins are crucial to us if we want to have a well-functioning liver.

70 % of the liver is protein—enzymes that perform functions derived from proteins.

The daily protein dose for adults is a minimum of 60-70 grams. Children require more because they grow.

Proteins consist of various numbers of different amino acids. It means that we must eat different types of food.

No to cirrhosis

Cirrhosis is a condition when fatty cells in the liver take over healthy liver cells. Usually, about 4% of the liver’s weight is fat. When fat reaches the 10% limit, the liver can not perform its functions.

Excess fat accumulates in cells when the liver does not get enough protein from food.

It is a vicious cycle.  The body lacks proteins. When there are not enough enzymes from proteins, the liver can not detoxicate the alcohol.

Cirrhosis is a dangerous disease with a high mortality rate.

How to protect the liver?

We can wonder how French people consume so much alcohol but stay healthy and, most importantly, happy.

French people enjoy food. They eat slowly. They drink wine slowly. They do not rush anywhere.

Cheese, meat, butter, mushrooms,  and vegetables are everyday staples on the table of French people. They have enough proteins from food.

The liver is healthy when one drinks moderately and gets proteins from food. Without proteins and vitamins, a deficiency of vital nutrients can occur anytime.

Spirulina is the source of protein

Christopher Hills, Ph.D., D.Sc., found out that consuming 30 pills of Spirulina can prevent a hangover. Spirulina has a high amount of protein. It contains the liver from poisoning with alcohol.

Prevention is the best key to being healthy

Drinking alcohol in moderation and getting enough proteins and vitamins from food could protect our bodies from poisoning. It is better to take care of ourselves when we are in good shape and when to suffer consequences from the reckless usage of alcohol. How to protect the liver from alcohol is essential to know everybody.

We are responsible for our well-being. Without good health, life would be less colorful and joyful. Let’s think first and enjoy a glass of wine later.
