The Health and Aging

Health is the most valuable asset. Health and aging can have healthy relationships. We can not buy it or extend our lives.  If we do not take care of ourselves, our health can deteriorate. Health and aging correlate. When we act and use clean food and water, thinking positive thoughts, aging does not seem like the scary journey towards disappearance from the surface of the Earth.

Watching after our health can postpone aging depending on the quality of nutrition, lifestyle, and physical and mental abilities to age well.

Why do we age


Till now, the whole aging mechanism has not been solved. Scientists and doctors are on the research path for rejuvenating tools. Unfortunately, we will go to the next place after leaving this precious Earth sooner or later.

Anyway, our health and aging are connected. When health is correct, we get older, but it does not seem like a burden. We are slow and flexible. We think longer. We are intelligent and wise.

There are a few theories about why we age. The first theory states that balance is disrupted between new and old cells in the body. When communication between hormones and cells is mixed, the body gets old.

Oxidation plays a significant role, too. Free radicals attack cells and damage them. If oxidative harm is reduced, the aging process can slow down. Lifespan would expand.

The art of positive thinking


Everybody knows that happy and optimistic people attract more luck and have a better outcome in life. Of course, there are cases where positivity does not solve all problems. However,  it helped to overcome them more easily.

Positive thinking increases the body’s ability to stand against unpleasant events. Our immune system reacts to our thoughts too. There were so many stories when people decided not to give up and achieved their dreams to overcome life’s obstacles.

There are risk factors that affect health and speed off aging.

  1. High blood pressure
  2. Use of tobacco
  3. High cholesterol
  4. Lack of fruit and vegetable intake
  5. Overuse of alcohol
  6. Being overweight
  7. Lack of physical activity

These factors lead to the deterioration of health and premature aging. It is a pity that most people do not think they can change their lifestyle and lead happy lives.

The information is the key to better health and happy life. I think that everybody knows that they will be old someday. However, there is a big difference between being a healthy senior and a human being who has plenty of problems with health.

Prevention is the primary step towards good health and golden years. Health and aging depend on you. We can be older but in good shape if we follow common sense and understand instructions from doctors and professionals.

Dr. Christopher Hills was fascinated by Spirulina. His experience of Spirulina is enormous. He wrote many books about his experience with Spirulina, the miraculous algae. Twenty years went by after his research and published papers. I knew about Spirulina before, but when I found more literature about Spirulina, I wondered why nobody uses so much of these nutraceutical algae as a food supplement.

Spirulina is a nutraceutical food that has all the needed amino acids, proteins, minerals, bioflavonoids, and vitamins that can keep your body in shape without having any side effects.

Health nuts or self-conscious people


People who take care of themselves eat nutritious food. They exercise. They use techniques to relax from everyday stress.  They know what Spirulina is. These people use Spirulina with smoothies or take tablets or pills. Of course, there can be exceptions because there are so many great options to feel well.

Slimming with Spirulina


Spirulina is a highly concentrated food supplement. Spirulina consists of natural and efficient proteins, enzymes, fatty acids, minerals,  and vitamins.

Spirulina is a product of nature. It is not a chemical product. Spirulina is full of vital nutrients which are easily absorbed by the body. The body recognizes it and knows that it got satisfaction from this food supplement.

According to Dr.Christopher Hills, if people consistently take Spirulina, they could have the right weight. Of course, it takes time to adjust. The metabolism in the body normalizes. People will begin to lose weight. Remember, no cheating.

How is safe Spirulina?


Spirulina was consumed and is consumed now by various civilizations. Mayans and Aztecs created enormous kingdoms and were known as great civilizations. They used Spirulina too as the people who lived and live currently in Africa, by Lake Chad.

United Nations Industrial Development Organization ( a division of the United Nations) commissioned and published a five-year toxicology study on Spirulina, finding it nontoxic.( Christopher Hills, “The Joy of Slimming” 31)

.. that independent feeding tests have shown no toxic or adverse effects in the humans, rats, pigs, and chickens… To date, there are no drug interactions reported with Spirulina. The United Nations Organization(UNO) has recommended Spirulina as the ideal food for mankind and the World Health Organization(WHO) has also declared Spirulina as a safe food  with excellent nutritional value.(M.E.Gershwin and Amha Belay “Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health“159)

I prefer authentic sources about subjects because these facts about Spirulina as a food supplement are proven by experts, scientists,  and doctors.

Nevertheless, if somebody has problems, they must consult a doctor before trying any new food or supplement.

The feedback from happy customers

Unsolicited letters were published in the book The Whole Truth about Spirulina. People from various states described experiences with the usage of Spirulina. Doctors, moms, seniors, and marathon runners were fascinated with how Spirulina helps them.

Some people felt increased energy, happiness,  and joy: some of the consumers were rid of allergies and snacking habits. Many people expressed delight about shiny hair, more profound meditations, less need for sleep, lost weight, and many more achievements regarding well-being.

I used by myself Spirulina sporadically because I did not feel the need. Now I started to take a few tablets every day. I am fine. I can tell that I am relaxed, and I ignore drivers who cut ahead of me. I think that it is an outstanding achievement for me. My experience with Spirulina is a positive one.

Spirulina and Energy

Spirulina is a balanced food. Spirulina and energy are essential topics in modern life. Spirulina has most of the vitamins, proteins, amino acids, and enzymes for proper body functioning. We eat that to live. We do not live to eat. Many people forgot about it.

The stress, monotony, lack of joy, and vision for life take a toll on the people. It is easy to open the refrigerator and pick the ice cream or a few cookies before bed. Habits are developed fast and cannot be swiped under the bed if we want to change our lifestyle.

Spirulina, being a nutraceutical food, provides all the needed nutrients that give the body energy to perform metabolic processes without any additional effort.

Empty food


Sweets, soda, processed food such as canned products or granola bars, instant ramen, and bacon appeal to our taste buds. Unfortunately, we think that we do good for ourselves by eating significant amounts of food without nutrients.

 Researcher Helke Ferrie wrote that medical researchers  found that the refining process of sugar removes 93 percent of chromium, 89 percent of manganese, 98 percent of cobalt, 83 percent of copper, 98 percent of zinc, and 98 percent of magnesium -all essential to life.(Carolyn Dean,”Death by Modern Medicine” 261)

Spirulina and Energy

Everybody knows that soda contains sugar. Ten or eight spoons of sugar in the can of soda tastes good. Unfortunately,  if our body lacks vital nutrients, we must refill it with fundamental and essential elements, not empty calories.

Why do we feel tired?


We do not feel satisfied after eating various processed foods with some salad and occasional fruit. Younger people can be okay because their bodies are not fully depleted. Adults can faster feel the consequences of unconscious eating. Obesity, tiredness, and skin problems start to bother us.

I guess that most of us know that we need to think about the food quality. We do not need something fancy; just an everyday diet and drinks full of vital nutrients would work fine for us.

What is about Spirulina?


Here, Spirulina comes into the picture. Spirulina is a balanced nutraceutical food. If we use Spirulina together with junk or processed food,  we will get the required vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and proteins. Later on, we could get rid of eating habits that cost money but do not give us energy and vital nutrients.

I like Spirulina; if we consume this food, we will get nutrients directly. Spirulina contains pigments ready to work. These nutrients were being broken down already. They are already made and willing to work for our bodies.

Usually, when we eat, food is processed in the digestive system. The food is broken down into amino acids. These amino acids are reformed into new proteins in the body.

Standard food, when eaten, breaks down to amino acids, and after this process, new proteins form in the body. With the consumption of Spirulina,  we save energy needed for breaking down food particles.

In giving Spirulina, however, to physical laborers, we have found its vegetable proteins to give more energy and to last longer than meat proteins do, so what workers have exclaimed about the difference and about how much more work they can do and how much more energy they have on Spirulina diet.(Dr. Christopher Hills,” The Joy of Slimming” 149)

Spirulina and Vitamins

Spirulina and vitamins are great topics because Spirulina is the source of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, proteins, and essential amino acids. Spirulina is a valuable food supplement. Vitamins take part in metabolism, the immune system,  and digestion activities. Without vitamins, our body would be thrown off balance and could not function properly.

Spirulina contains several vitamins which are essential to metabolic processes.

Pyridoxine or B6


Pyridoxine helps break down and assimilate proteins. Dr.Carl Pfeiffer stated that vitamin B6 and the mineral zinc could contribute to healing some forms of schizophrenia.

Vitamin B6 protects cardiac health, helps reduce edema, and stabilizes female hormone levels.

Biotin


Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin. This vitamin is called vitamin B7 or coenzyme R.

Biotin is essential for the growth of cells, the production of fatty acids, and the metabolism of amino acids and fats.

Biotin takes part in carrying CO2 during biochemical reactions. Biotin is necessary for nails and hair production.

Cobalamin or B12


Vitamin B12 is water-soluble, and it is rare to be found in vegetables. Thankfully, Spirulina is rich in cobalamin or so-called vitamin B12.

Vitamin B12 plays a significant role in the functions of the brain and nervous system,  the formation of red blood cells, in the metabolism of fatty acids and amino acids.

If humans lack Cobalamin in their bodies, they can feel fatigued. Mental illnesses can develop, such as schizophrenia.

Pantothenic acid or B5


Pantothenic acid, or vitamin B5, is a part of the vitamin B complex. Pantothenic acid takes part in the synthesis of coenzyme-A, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

According to Jack Joseph Challem, the author of Spirulina: What it Is…the Health Benefits it Can Give You, pantothenic acid is a stress vitamin. When the body lacks this vitamin, fatigue, infections, and degenerative diseases like arthritis and rheumatism could occur.

Ulcers and hypoglycemia are associated with the absence of pantothenic acid.

Folic acid


Folic acid participates in the formation of hemoglobin in red blood cells. If the body lacks folic acid, anemia, weak growth, and premature graying of the hair occur. There is shortness of breath,  heart palpitations, and open sores on the tongue due to the lack of folic acid.

Humans can not produce folic acid. They need to get vitamin B from the diet.

Inositol


Inositol is the essential lipotropic nutrient. Lipotropic means a compound that accelerates the breakdown of fat during metabolism in the body.

Inositol sustains liver health and helps detoxify carcinogens, according to Jack Joseph Challem.

Niacin or B3


Niacin, or vitamin B3 is essential for mental health. Dr. Abram Hoffer, co-developer of Orthomolecular Medicine, has relieved symptoms of schizophrenia with niacin.

According to Wikipedia, the lack of niacin can cause nausea, anemia, headaches, and tiredness.

Niacin deficiency can show up as decreased cold tolerance and skin conditions such as dermatitis and hyperpigmentation.

Riboflavin or B2


Riboflavin is necessary for healthy vision and skin health.

Thiamine or B1


Thiamine is essential for maintaining levels of glucose in the blood. If the body lacks thiamin, humans can feel tired. Neurological and cardiovascular diseases occur when the body is deficient in thiamin.

Tocopherol or vitamin E


Spirulina contains plenty of vitamin E. The algae contain more vitamin E compared with wheat germ.

Vitamin E, or tocopherol, is famous for protecting the heart and vascular health. The deficiency of vitamin E can cause anemia and neurological problems.

Spirulina has enormous nutritional value because it contains the most vitamins, minerals, and enzymes the body needs. Spirulina is easily digested and does not have any side effects. Spirulina and vitamins are the real things that work for our benefit.

What Is the Spirulina?

What is Spirulina? Part 1. Spirulina is a one-celled form of blue-greenish algae that formed on the Earth thousands of years ago. Spirulina was consumed by living beings as long as it was recorded in food sources.

What is Spirulina?

Spanish conquistadores conquered the Aztec empire in February 1519. The end for the Aztecs was after two years. Spanish warriors discovered that native people ate maize, squash,  beans,  and green scum during this time. This green material was abundant on Lake Texcoco of the Teotihuacan Valley. Here Mexico City stands today.

The name for this green scum was tecuitlatl. Aztecs traded green algae as a food source. When the Spanish came, they did not catch and understand the importance of blue algae.

Aztecs grew Spirulina on the floating gardens, so-called chinampas. The blue algae produced more protein than the land could provide. Unfortunately, conquistadores did not understand it, and they began to restore swamps and lakes to make a tillable land surface.

Aztecs used Spirulina as the food source for proteins. Their civilization was notable for the large population, slavery, polygamy, and barbaric customs such as ritual cannibalism and human sacrifice.

Mayans lived in Central America in a jungle environment. They developed waterways and artificially constructed ponds. Scientists think that these lakes, probably for Spirulina, were dispersed through the jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula. Without Spirulina, the Mayan population of two million could barely survive in forests.

Rediscovery of Spirulina


A Belgian botanist Jean Leonard visited the Sahara Desert in 1964. When he reached Lake Chad, Leonard discovered the local people were gathering and scooping green scum with baskets. This green material was dried in the sun and later eaten or traded as food on the local market.

Back home, Jean Leonard published a report about Spirulina as food. Several French engineers were interested. A Japanese scientist named Hiroshi Nakamura read about Spirulina projects, which the French National Petroleum Center performed with Nakamura long ago. He was engaged in Spirulina as food.

What is the Spirulina?

After that, Japanese scientists became pioneers in the research of Spirulina. In Japan, Spirulina is used as food for commercial fish and domestic animals. Spirulina was used as a food supplement in some cases of diseases.

Researchers, scientists, and promoters of Spirulina


First time when I discovered Spirulina was twenty years ago. I became interested in Tianshi products. I lived in Europe at this time. As Tianshi Distributor, I read literature about herbal supplements and their influence on well-being. Doctors wrote their experience and expertise in books.

Tianshi company is worldwide. It had quarters in North America a few years ago.

I do not know the reason why they moved out. One thing that I understand from Cristopher Hills, Ph.D.  D.Sc. books about FDA regulations that food could not be sold as medicine or drug. Claims about the therapeutic effects of Spirulina could not be made in the USA.

There are books written by Japanese doctors who made medical discoveries about Spirulina. The Secrets of Spirulina is one of these books.

The book by Jack Joseph Challem is Spirulina: what it is…the health benefits it can give you, printed in the USA. Unfortunately, this mentioned book and other books were written 30 years ago.

Time passed, but Spirulina was around, found in the lakes of Africa and Mexico. Spirulina is grown in Japan and in Mexico, in California too.

What is Spirulina?


A couple of months ago, I discovered a book edited by M.E. Gershwin and Amha Belay. Scientists and doctors wrote this particular book. They performed enormous research about Spirulina and published these results in the book Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health.

Finally, the resource, rich with experimental data, is shown in the evidence for scientists, food industry researchers, doctors,  and consumers. We can in the USA learn from this book what Spirulina is.
